Star Wars launch bay soft opening

I am reading about a possible soft opening on November 27. We have our last day on the 27th scheduled at MK with CRT, and don't see too much hopping happening, as we have SDMT and A&E FP. we are supposed to check out and start our long drive home on the 28th, but I'm thinking we could add a day to our tickets and get over there on the 28th before we leave if we could possibly see this, and leave around noon. I have zero experience with "soft openings" . What exactly does this mean? Is there a chance it will not be open that morning?

Absolutely possible that it will be -or won't be- open.

Soft Openings can mean anything.
The attraction might be open at any time that day for 30 minutes, then close.
Or, it could be open only starting in the afternoon for a couple of hours.
Or, could be open for a few minutes, close, reopen for awhile, close, reopen later.
Or, it could be open all day long.
Or, it might not be open at all, if there are some unanticipated issues.
All without advance warning of any kind.

It could be open and maybe it won't so I wouldn't make a special plan for that park just for the Launch Bay.

When we were at WDW before 7DMT opened the rumor was that they were going to "soft open" it during our stay and it never happened. We watched as the CM's tested the ride and they even had CM standing at the entrance........but it never did open.

The SWW/Launch Bay thread is reporting a signing event in Watto's Grotto on the 27th and 28th.

Launch Bay includes character meet and greets so if there is a soft open, the meets will be for a lengthy specified time due to CM scheduling.

Yes, Ashley (creator of Her Universe) will be signing her merchandise at Watto's but that's completely separate from Launch Bay. Like other have explained soft opening can be tricky, I recommend just keeping your eyes and ears open and you can follow the SW thread for more updated information
