First time going How early should you be there so you have a good view of the stage?

Do people sit down before the fireworks start or must you stand the whole time?

We’re going Last week of October.they start at 8:30.

You want a clear view of the buildings because that is where they projections are. Most of the fireworks come over the buildings slightly to the right, so you want to have a nice view in that direction. There are a lot of trees in the area, so a little moving around will give you a good view. Everything happens pretty high up, so unless someone puts a child on their shoulders in front of you, it isn't too hard to get a good view.

Most people sit while they are waiting. Sometimes the CM's make you stand and other times they let know stay seated.

They run some movie clips about 1/2 hour before the SW fireworks. If you get there in time for that then you will get an idea of how good of a view you would need. :)

People usually sit on the ground until near start-time.

Standing for the show is not usually a problem, as it is not a "long" show, by Disney standards.

Thanks
I was thinking 30-45 min before.
I’ll check it out around 60 min before to see how full it is.

Hopefully we can sit before it starts.

Exactly this. Just saw the show this past week and this is exactly how it went for us.

Many, many people sit while waiting. If it's just a couple of you - you can probably fill in someplace 20-25 minutes in advance. As a solo - I aim for only 15-20 minutes. If it's 3-6 of you - you'll want to judge the crowd level that day as you will need more ground - and hence be earlier. Definitely try to be center.

It’s just 2 of us
It looks like a really cool show
I want a good spot though so I’ll go early.

Kind of off point but I wish they brought back the old fireworks show when it was just fireworks. Those were intense and amazing. The current light show is neat but not as jaw dropping as the fireworks used to be.

Last fall, we showed up about 30 minutes before and got a good area to view. Just make sure you can see all the buildings as the projections cover most of them.

We just did this Wednesday night (note: it had been raining from about 2:00-8:00 so crowds were pretty low). The Disney movie magic show started at 8:40 and we arrived just after it started. We walked straight up to maybe 2-3 rows from the front. By the time that show was over it was a very short wait until Star Wars - standing was not a problem. It was also not a huge issue getting out of the park either. Overall - a very enjoyable experience! I think most people still do Fantasmic

We got in the middle of the viewing area early and asked a cast member and they told us where the walkway would be during the show. They said to stand right here and there will be noone in fron of you during the show. It was a great spot.

I agree completely. I loved the previous Force Awakens fireworks. They were spectacular. I felt the lightshow and projections were ho hum. Kinda a let down after the Force Awakens fireworks.
