Star Wars Fireworks from Parking Lot?

Unfortunately, they just released the Star Wars fireworks schedule for early June and it's not scheduled for our HS night. We don't have park hoppers and the two days the fireworks are happening I already have FP+ and ADRs set at other parks for things I can't move to other days. So my question is this...is there a place we can see them for free, such as the HS parking lot/bag check area that would be a decent enough view to make it a worthwhile trip? I've never seen fireworks at HS and I've heard these are great. I'll have a car and free parking, so I don't mind driving over there and standing on the sidewalk if my view would be decent. Any thoughts?

If you won't be able to go in the park, then yes..get as close to the entrance as you can so you can hear the music and you should be able to have a pretty decent view.

Your view will be better than not going and having no view

Here's a good map. Anything south of 3 is prior to the gates.

For an extra bonus, you can usually walk to Epcot in the same night right after and still catch illuminations.

Just a word of warning they do not pump the music outside, the only way you could faintly hear the music is if the wind is blowing in your direction. The music is a HUGE part of the fireworks so if you can't go into the park have the video queued up on youtube and play it as soon as it's 9:45pm .
Best spots outside is by the flag poles next to the Mickey Topiary or the walkway toward Boardwak before the over pass

I've only been keeping half an eye on these Star Wars fireworks threads. But I have a friend going in November and want to help her plan. I just mistakenly assumed they were every night. Oops!

1) I would assume that if they aren't doing them every night in June, they won't be doing them every night in November?

2) Does anyone think it's a safe assumption that they would at least be having them on MVMCP nights in the MK?

I queued up the music via youtube and synced it not so poorly. An ideal solution? No. But workable. Turns out we could hear it ok without it, though in section 5 there is plenty of bus noise since the depot is right there.

Yesterday i switch My epcot day for holywood studios day and i can book My restaurant and 3 good fastpass. It is not easy but if you Check often you can be lucky

I would invite you to keep checking the SW thread that's the one I keep up with. Just because it's not nightly in June doesn't mean it won't be in November, we are too far away to know anything for sure. Once the new show starts we might have a better idea

Thanks, I will! I think I need to call her today and advise her to make DHS ADRs on a backup day until she know for sure. She's only doing one DHS day and would be sorry to miss the fireworks.

Here's a good map. , Anything south of 3 is prior to the gates.

Just a technical note:
The map you posted is not "north-facing." (Traditionally, maps without a compass image are, by default, north-facing.)
But, that map is actually facing (bottom-to-top) the southwest.
So, technically, your info, "Anything south of 3 is prior to the gates" is a bit confusing for those who deal with actual compass directions.

Perhaps a better way to state this (in this case) is, "Anything on the map below 3 is prior to the gates."

Yeah... I meant South on the map as in below. But technically, you're right.

That's what I figured, but in dealing with maps, it can become confusing so easily.

(Hey, didn't that DISboard post say, "South?") ;)

Illuminations are at 9 pm. They will have long since ended.

It can depend on the time of year.
The DHS nighttime shows can begin much earlier in the winter months (and without Daylight Saving Time,)
while IllumiNations remains as a 9PM start (or later) the year-round.

I think I read somewhere you can see HS SW fireworks from the bridge at POP/AoA. Is this correct?

True. From Pop, look over the Lion King building at AoA. Obviously, you only see the high fireworks, not the projections. I could very faintly hear the music.

We watched the Star Wars fireworks from the walkway to the Boardwalk, which is marked as number 5 on the map posted above. We had a great view and could hear the music. This was back in February when nights were cool and humidity was low, which might have helped to carry the sound better than in humid weather. As long as you can see the Chinese theater from outside the park then you would be able to see the fireworks. it will be interesting to see how the view changes once they start the new fireworks show later in June.

Thanks to the OP for asking this question and for everyone who has shared ideas. It is good to keep in mind when planning.
