Star Tours

The last time I rode it was about 6 years ago and was very apprehensive about it because I get motion sick. I went on it because a friend recommended the ride and I was pleasantly surprised that I was just fine! Whew!

I don't know if I'd chance going on it again since I am ALWAYS apprehensive about these types of motion rides, but for me, it's a hit and miss thing.

Well if you want a better explanation... go sit down in front of your tv and play crimson skies or any xbox first person flying game. And make sure you get really into it, and start moving around like you're actually in the game.
Gamers, you know what I'm talking about...
Car games is almost the same, but you don't have the whole up and down motions like flying.

Soarin is a similar ride, only nice and smooth, with a much bigger screen, with a greater effect. Either one can make you motion sick. Which occasionally it has made me and Kari, even though we ride it every time. If it does make your head a little light, stare at the person in front of you or the floor, not the ceiling because they use strobes for the battle effects. Closing your eyes may or may not help you.

I've never been to the one at WDW, but I've been on the one as Disneyland lots of times. I LOVE it! I have been known to get motion sickness before, but this ride doesn't make me sick.

In December of 2003 I rode this ride and the detail of the picture on the screen was extremely blurry... like the convergence was way off... has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it was just a focus thing that they fixed because I've never heard anyone else talk about it...

Hi Joe. Welcome to the Dis! Nope, it looked ok to me. I don't recall ever hearing that complaint on these boards but I could be wrong.
