Star Tours still busy?

When we went in May we got to go on Star Tours for the first time since they added the new scenes. The day we were there was that one weird day that the computers were down across the parks and parts of Anaheim. FP's weren't working, you couldn't charge at some locations, ticket booths down, etc. Anyhow, I don't know if that was the reason but in early evening you could get on ST (walking from the front door to sitting down) within 10 minutes, no long lines and no FP. I went three times in a row but we weren't feeling great so we stopped then. Now I'm wondering if that was a fluke or if it is that easy to ride ST at certain times of the day. Do I need to plan FP's for it? Are there still long lines? Thanks.

There are not incredibly long lines like there were that first summer after it reopened. The norm on a regularly crowded day is that the line for ST hovers around 30-50 min with FPs being available throughout most of the day and into the early evening. It's a tad bit below the popularity level as Space/Indy, although perhaps a bit more popular now that Indy is closed this fall.

We just came back from DL. Star Tours was a walk on both days we were there.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like one less attraction I need to plan carefully for. I do want to try it a few more times.

When we rode early in the day there were no lines, walk right on.
Then the line grew and we spent time slowly moving from the main entrance to the ride turnstile. It surprised us how much there was to see while in line.
If there is a substantial line a FP might be nice.

I love star tours but it never fails it gives my stomach the jello effect, does anyone know what you can do to calm my poor tummy??, maybe sea sickness pills?

We went at the beginning of May, so must have missed the strange computer outage. I went to Magic Morning by myself, though it wouldn't be any different for a family. They weren't letting anyone on Space Mountain or get fastpasses till 9.30, so walked straight over to Star Tours. Walked on with no wait for the first ride of the day. If you want to go on star tours my advice would be to ride during MM or EMH hours, or make a beesline as soon as the park opens

It was May 7th. Affected all the resort areas and parts of Anaheim. We didn't realize it until several stores and eateries in DLR began telling everyone they would not take CC charges of over $50. Also all FP machines were down. All the CM's said computers all over Anaheim were being affected. I read more on these boards when we came home.

I have to take motion sickness pills for Star Tours. You can get them at any drugstore.

how long before you go on the ride do you take them?

I go by the instructions on the box, but they last a long time. I do when I go to the park in the morning, at least an hour before I want to ride Star Tours.
