I was talking to a cast member this weekend. There are 456 possible experience combinations now for Star Tours. Some changes are small, but they are changes none the less. We rode it 5 times in 3 days, and it was never exactly the same. What a great ride.

Do you mean that there are 456 different scenarios?:confused3

no way this is my sons favorite ride so we ride it five times a visit and we visit twice a month and it has only been two MAYBE three different scenarios, I refuse to believe that one, sorry.
I heard a CM tell me that in one scenario you go to Darth Maul's homeworld but I ain't heard no one else talk about it so grain of salt

From what I've heard, there are 2 opening scenes, 3 choices of first planet, 3 possible Rebel messages and 3 choices of final destination. That makes 11 distinct things to see/experience and they can be arranged in 2x3x3x3=54 possible combinations. Our family has seen all 11 of these scenes in probably at least half of the possible combinations.

There are 54 combinations.

2 opening scenes
x 3 first planets
x 3 projections
x 3 second "planets"

= 54! :goodvibes

EDIT: oops, longtimedisneylurker beat me to it!

op could be refering to subtle changes as well... such as ride motion, like Indiana Jones.

Probably right. But that is like saying that there are 456 different ride experiences on the Mickey's Fun Wheel, depending on how you shift your weight.

LOL, I thought this was maybe an old thread from a year ago or something. Take it from someone who has been on it over 30 times now and as recently as last weekend. Nothing has been added to the original 54 combinations and I dont think they had time to add 400 more within a year! ;)

To the OP's defense, I was told about the same # by a CM last late Nov./early Dec. Can't remember the exact number, but it was in the hundred's. I was shocked. Maybe it was the same CM messing with both of us :) hehe If I recall, it was a girl with brown hair that I talked to.

CMs are great if you need to know where a restroom is, and anything on the Times Guide. Not great if you need to know DL history, specifics about attractions, how to do something in a different department and the list goes on and on.

Its a simulator. If the motion of the simulator is even slightly wrong, every passenger would get dizzy and motion sickness, as their eyes are seeing one thing yet the screen is doing another, confusing your brain and making you sick.

During my visit I rode Star Tour 3 times and I got every time the same combination! I had only the opening scene different once, but same "first planet", same "projection" and same "second planet" every time. A bit disappointing, but: random IS random.

Been our Star Tours a total of 13 times, although I have finally seen all 11 possiblibities, when I rode 5 times two weeks ago in California, I got the Pod race all 5 times.

Random my butt.

Pod Race - 11 of 13 times
Episode one final scene - 10 of 13 times.

Hoth - Once
Boba Fett - Once

I'm about equal in the openings and the communication areas.

Or, if you are like me, you get sick just because of the simulator:sick::lmao:

Sorry OP...you seem to have been misinformed by a CM...wouldn't be the first time it has happened. :lmao:
I've seen everything but the water planet...forget the name. Hopefully I can finally go there in October. I hear it is one of the best destinations.

ETA ~ How is this info a spoiler alert?
