Star Tours and motion sickness

Star Tours makes me very ill for about thirty minutes (puking) and illish for about two hours.

EE had the same effect. These were only ridden once. Never again.

It's Drammamine for me! I started getting light motion sickness after an ear infection several years ago. BTMRR would get me dizzy during that long turn. I found Drammamine saves me. It doesn't make me sleepy and pretty much lasts all day.

I will ride Star Tours, but it does make me a little queasy, and I'm not prone to motion sickness. I ride Mission Space Orange with no issues (this is the ride I thnk you're confusing with Star Tours when you say milder side. Mission space has green - mild and orange - more intense)

Idk what it is about the new star tours, but I can't do it. Done it twice and i get bad motion sickness. Only the new star tours! The old one was fine. So weird.

Star Tours. :crazy2::crazy2:
I can do any of the roller coasters - LOVE Soarin - Can't even look at the Tea Cups - Haven't and probably won't attempt Mission Space of any color - Star Tours does me in...seriously - puts my out for the day. :faint:

I suffer from motion sickness, cannot even do the tea cups, but on my last trip I braved Star Tours, just made sure I took a Dramamine in the morning, I thought I would be ok as I have ridden motion simulators in New York and Vegas and was fine as long as I took the Dramamine. I loved star tours, it's really not that bad and believe me, I would not steer you wrong!

Is it comparable to the Back to the Future ride at Universal? That definitely made me sick.

I get motion sick when I read in the car, or ride rides that spin (Tilt-a-Whirl type stuff). I love coasters and never have a problem with even backward motion or inversions but I couldn't handle BTTF.

I am not prone to motion sickness and have even done Mission Space (once) but Star Tours makes me sick. I rode it on Wednesday again because I wanted to give it another try since they had redone it...I watched the launch and knew I was not going to be able to do it.

This is me too. Not prone to motion sickness, and can do roller coasters just fine, but Star Tours gets me every time. I ride with my DS because he loves it, but I don't even bother putting on the 3D glasses. I close my eyes and wait for it to be over!

:) I ride EE, Soarin, MS-orange, BTMR, SM, RnR and Tot with no problems. Last year I rode ST--we sat in the back and I was in the end side, so far back right, looking down at screen.

I think we got the long tour and by the end I was ready to get off the ride. If it had lasted another 5 seconds I would have had to maybe go back to the room. I settled down pretty quickly but did not enjoy the ride that much. The effects were stunning, but will not ride in that position again. I agree with PP, sit up front.

I get queezy on star tours as well but like most other posters have no issue with the actual rides where you're moving. The Simpsons ride at universal was the worst though.

I have motion sickness and I'm on medication

I can't ride Mad Hatter's Tea Cups, even with the meds. I feel dizzy and puke is never too far away ... so I don't ride anymore
Mission space orange makes me dizzy, even by looking at the wait times board :D
I'm also pretty sick on the plane if I don't sit in the wings section

I can ride Star Tours quite ok. Actually I've rode it 12 times in a row last november at a point when it was walk on for around 2 hours. So no time to cool down, only the time to go through Tatoiine Traders and back up the line again.
I began to feel unwell on the 12th ride and decided to call it a day. It was more the 3D effects that had begun to mess with me.
I didn't feel much difference depending on the location inside the starspeeder.

It all depends on how severe one's motion sickness is. And there is not only one kind of motion sickenss, there are lots ... as many as there are guests.

Star Tours makes me sick every time. Last time, I found myself with my eyes closed just a few seconds in, and I STILL got sick. I can manage Soarin by closing my eyes for about half of it, but Star Tours is really jerky, too - and that does me in even without the visual. Can't do MM at all. Tried it once and it ruined me until I could sleep the nausea off. EE is no big deal for me.
