Standby question

If I have a flight that connects can I try to fly standby on a direct fligh or only a flight with connections.We are flyingin Delta and have a connection at CVG trying to get to Newark.

yes you can try however if you are checking anybags you might want to check them at the gate instead of you do by chance get on. check the flight load before you attempt to go standby.
