Standby availability for Animation Experience?

I’m trying to decide if I should use a FP on the Animation experience at Animal Kingdom or if there are abundant standby slots available?

I’m park hopping that day and ideally would like to use my first 3 fast passes at EPCOT then hop to AK and grab a 4th FP for the Safari and wait Standby for the Animation Experience.

We had no issues using standby, but that was in August when crowds were pretty low.

When we were there in September there was plenty of space for standby (it never came close to filling up). It was a slower time though but I don't think it should be too difficult. That said, we did it 4 times in a row all with FP's as we were able to get them same day.

I did the Animation Experience on the last Sat of July, in the afternoon. I originally had a FP for it but realized I wasn't going to make it in time for the return window, factoring in travel time on the train, so I cancelled the FP and showed up maybe a min or two after it started. I was easily seated and there were plenty of available seats.

no the times I did it it was not even half full with FP and standby

We did it in August, and had no problem getting in standby.

we were late to a 10:30 session mid August (got there 10:33). no problem getting a seat. session was about 50% full
