Standard view @ WL

We'll be staying at the WL for the first time at the end of July. We've booked a standard view room and I was wondering what this view would be. I've read that it is either a "service area" view or a view of the roof. Does anyone know if there are any other views available. Has anyone stayed in a standard view room and been able to see anything other than the service area or the roof?

I have not stayed in one but I made a point to check out the views on my trip in May. The service area is large but seemed pretty clean and not what you might imagine. If you stand at the railing of your balcony you will have a fine view of it. If you sit at on the chair and relaxe you will see across the service area to the trees. The same with many of the other rooms with views of the roof. There are a few rooms that are down behind the roof so when you sit on the balconey you see the roof in front of you and the sky above. Many of the other roof view rooms will have a view of the roof directly below but the trees, Villas and parkinglot beyond.

I stayed in awoods view room in Dec of 2001, and I was not impressed. All we could see were the Wilderness Villas. If I had to do it over again, I would spring for a room overlooking the pool.

Looks like we will be there at the same time, end of July, and also staying in std room. Maybe we will bump into each other.

If you would have had a WV room in the North wing it would have been better. There the view is of the trees, otter pond, and if you're high enough you can see some or all of the MK fireworks.
