Assuming we'll be getting a standard view at the GCH in Oct. Does anyone know what the views are? Guessing one is the entrance to the hotel? Which wouldn't be bad. What are the others?

Also I know there is that 11.50 resort fee. But isn't it for every night? Not just a one time fee? When we booked they acted like it was a one time fee, not for every night, so now I can't remember! Thanks!! :goodvibes

We had a standard view room the one night we stayed there and we had a room overlooking the courtyard where the monorail runs through. Wasn't as bad as say a parking lot view.

We had a room overlooking the enrtance while my sister and her family had a view of the courtyard. And the resort fee is per night of stay, not a one time fee. So a 4 night stay would be $46. Have a great time.

Did your room have a balcony. I wasn't sure if all rooms have balconies? I just booked a standard room using Disney Vacation Club points and they didn't know.
When you mentioned overlooking the monorail, I remembered she mentioned the monorail courtyard.

Yes, there was a balcony. I believe all the rooms at the GCH have balconies.

From all the good info Mary Jo posted above, I guess there is about 10-12 rooms that don't have balconies. They are all in the courtyard area, and it's because they are so close to the monorail. Here's hoping we don't get any of those! :)

Really any of those views aren't bad. Not gonna beat the time we had a view of the GRR, but hey, what can you do. LOL Those certainly beat the parking lot view we had in the Bonita Tower at the DLH!

Our standard view room overlooked the front parking lot on the side closest to Downtown Disney.

We were on the highest floor, so it actually wasn't too bad. I could see DLH and PP in the distance as well as part of Downtown Disney. I spend a few mornings out there and while it wasn't totally picturesque it wasn't awful either.

We have a DTD Disney view booked using our DVC points - that was the only room type left when we booked. Do we still pay the resort fee if we are using points?

Thank you in advance!

In the past when I have stayed at one of the Disneyland resort hotels with DVC points, the resort fees were included. I haven't received my confirmation letter yet, but I expect to state that there as it did in the past.

Thank you - I haven't gotten a letter yet either - now that you mention it!

With DVC, the resort fee is included, you don't pay OOP. It is per night though if you have a regular non-DVC reservation. It covers parking, paper, internet, etc. and there's no getting out of it!!

We had standard view overlooking the monorail, it literally went by about 20 feet away from our balcony, the kids loved it!! There are only a few rooms that have no balcony, those are in the Brisas (monorail) courtyard also!
