Like to hear from folks that have stayed in a Swan standard room...How did you like the room etc and how was the boatride to Mgm and to Epcot?
Thanks

We thought the room was very nice. The beds are incredible. The transportation options and location of the Swan are wonderful too!

Our first standard room stay was actually a corner room. We could see the waterway between Swan & the Boardwalk and could see fireworks. The second stay we had a view of the Swan pool. Not bad in my opinion. It was better than the stardand view we had at the Yacht & Beach.

We stayed in a Swan standard room in '02. It was fine. We had a sideways view of the boardwalk. The boats are fun to ride, but unless a boat is waiting when you walk up, it's quicker to walk. We're planning to stay at the Dolphin (let's hear for the teacher rate!) in '06. I think the boardwalk hotels have the best location, & yes, I've stayed at a monorail resort.

The rooms at the Swan are very nice.... the beds are heavenly!! ;) We also enjoyed the boat rides to Epcot. :)

We stayed in a standard room at the Dolphin about 3 years ago and we just returned from a stay at a standard room at the YC. My personal preference is YC that hotel is incredible, it just has that Disney feel to me. We have 3 small children so we do spend alot of time at the hotel and in the room. Althouhg the view from the Dolphin could not be beat, it was spectacular, I really enjoyed YC much better. All the rooms at the YC have a balcony, not all the Dolphin ones do, I guess you could request one. It really just boils down to personal preference. For the rate at the Dolphin it could notbe beat, but I would rather pay more to stay at YC. It just feels much more like I am on vacation and being pampered.

We loved it! The room was very quiet, view was beautiful. The location can't be beat. We used the boats most of the time. They were fine. DD and I did walk back from Illuminations one night as it was faster than waiting for the boat with the crowds.

We stayed at a standard room at the Swan last Friday & Saturday night (actually we got the free upgrade to a poolside view). The room was very nice, 2 queens, and we had a balcony. I had booked my reservations several weeks before with the AAA half price rate, but then when they came out with the late summer special, I called and got the lower rate (139/night, the poolside view, and a late checkout).

I did feel cramped though -- I was travelling with my 2 teens, and we had quite a bit of luggage since our entire trip was for 10 days, and my 16 year old daughter had enough outfits and hair and makeup supplies to last a month. There were only a few drawers in the dresser that were available to store your personal items -- they had their stocked mini-bar supplies in a large portion of the dresser/desk area.

The beds were wonderful! Even my kids commented on it being the best bed they ever slept on, and they had heard nothing ahead of time about "heavenly beds".

For the price and location, it couldn't be beat!!! We only had one day to do Epcot/MGM -- did early entry to MGM on Saturday, took the boat over there (did not have to wait long at all for the boat). The kids had time to do the hot rides at MGM a few times each -- TOT and RockNRoller coaster. We wanted to get to Epcot in the morning to do Test Track and Mission Space, so we were told the quickest way would be to take a bus directly from MGM to Epcot. We got to Epcot around 11:00 am, and were able to do Test Track, MS, and Norway's maelstrom, and the Mexico boat ride, and also had gotten a fast pass for Test Track for like 1:25-2:25.

I think if I were younger and in better shape, the walk from MGM to Epcot would have been the quickest, because we did have to wait about 15 minutes for the bus.

One nice thing about taking the boat to MGM, is that the Dolphin/Swan is the last stop before going to MGM, and then coming back from MGM, you're the first stop to get off.

I can't tell you how the Swan compares to any of the other Epcot resorts, because we never stayed at any of the others, but it is a very short walk to get to all of them.

Hope this info helps.

We have now stayed at both the Swan and the Dolphin and plan to return to the Dolphin again next April. Between the price and location, it is probably the only place that we will stay for now on.

The walk to both Epcot and MGM is wonderful! ::MickeyMo

We loved our standard room at the Swan with heavenly queensize beds, two sinks, and a great view of Boardwalk, Dolphin and lake. We had plenty of room for our family of 4 though I wish we would have had a balconey. The walk to Epcot was very nice--only 10 minutes and the boat to MGM was nice as there were no stops. I'd stay at the Swan again with the great rates they offer! It would cost me twice as much at the YC, and I could think of a lot of things I could do with the $800 I saved by staying at the Swan.

I would pick the Swan over Y&B. The room was nicer and much quieter. We were located as far from the elevator as you could possibly be. It took less time to walk to Epcot from the main desk than it took to walk from our room to the main desk. The pool at Y&B was more unique. But we wern't travelling with small children. DD (age 21) enjoyed the pools at the Swan more. I would only stay at Y & B again if a I could be guanteed a better location (not likely)
