Stand-by line for Rise ***NO SPOILERS***

I have clients in the park now. The line was crazy at RD, which is to be expected. But then almost immediately, waits were drastically inflated by MDE. Although MDE at one point claimed a wait of over 3.5 hours, that was never true. MDE is now much more in line with the actual wait, and TP has it at 64 minutes which my client says is pretty accurate. With BG's not filling up/being available until late in the day recently, this all makes sense. The actual situation on the ground is much less chaotic than it seems.
This happened a few days in late August but has not been reported since that time. I watch the BG's often and other than a few days, they were full shortly after 1PM the majority of the time.
I’m curious if they keep it running in Disney’s typical way of making sure everyone gets a ride as long as you’re in line way. If DHS closes at 9pm and I get in line at 8:59, can I ride? Or will they shut it down early? It’s my understanding that it’s a finicky ride that is prone to downtime but perhaps they got some of the bugs ironed out.
While normally this is the practice, we'll need to keep an eye on things in the next while to see if RotR is treated the same as other rides in the parks. Hopefully it is but as it's a ride that seems to require it's downtime overnight to function well the following day, I can't help but wonder if this process will continue IF the standby line is long later in the evening.

Is the drastically dropped standby wait have anyone else wondering how many people they were actually boarding using BGs? Was there more capacity than they were offering?

I don't have anything to support this question, just wondering out loud.

People seem to have stopped reporting the posted wait times. so I'll point out that it's down to 75 minutes. Meanwhile, four other rides in DHS now have posted waits of 45 minutes or more (MMRR, MFSR, SDD and RnR). I guess the long lines at RotR aren't going to keep the other lines short all day long.

There are multiple reports on Twitter too that the real wait is under 15 minutes. So the actual waits for those other rides could be way lower and MDE is inflating wait times across the board, or the Rise wait is so low that people are quickly able to get on and off and go hit up everything else. One other benefit to no boarding groups…repeat rides on Rise in the same day!

Touring Plans reporting 69 minutes and this is normally based off of guests waiting in line reporting their times. Guess it's somewhere between 15 mins and 69 mins. ;)

Still FAR better than I anticipated!!!

I’m glad my family rode it back in 2019. I wasn’t blown away like everyone else and have no need to ever ride again. Happy my curiosity has been satisfied.

eta: I see wait times are down. Glad for all involved. Might this just work?….,

What is "IA$"?

Individual Attraction Selection = IA$. These are the two ride choices per day you are able to make with Genie (when it launches) that will place you in the Lightning Lane for a "small fee". There is no information on what that fee may be per ride and it is suspected it may be surge priced so constantly changing. This is a freestanding paid option over and above Genie+ and you need not pay for Genie+ to utilize it.

Sorry if that was more information than you needed. :flower1:

Now let’s see what the times do in an hour when park hoppers come over. Especially since I’m sure a bunch of people in other parks have been checking TP, MDE, and social media reports and know the wait’s not bad, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a significant bump at first.

that's insane. ROTR is a fabulous ride, but no way am I willing to wait 3 hr to go on it.
That was the posted time but many reports of people not taking that long. One person in the 'Here Now' thread just reported their entire experience in line and riding was 35 minutes.
What is "IA$"?
Individual Attraction Selections - where a guest pays to skip a line for an attraction.

I have been watching it all day , the true test is the weekends... its 1:18 its listing a 95 min wait.
At 2:21 it says 75 mins

(On busy days that's what FOP says so far looking good.. it also never takes that long)

I'm glad we went during the pandemic as we've now experienced both the Rise and the Millennium Falcon ride so we're good = not big Star Wars fan here = I still like Star Tours.

I wonder if the virtual boarding groups they were allowing were more limited than the rides actual capacity. I mean, I wonder if they are pushing the ride to take more people in a day than they were when you had to get a boarding group. It just does not make sense that when virtual the boarding groups were gone within seconds each day, yet they can have a standby line all day and keep the waits down. It doesn’t add up.

TP has Rise at 40 minutes. That isn’t bad at all.
We had excellent luck with boarding groups, we had #8 and #2 on two attempts. Even though the virtue queue worked for us, I still think I prefer letting individuals choose if they want to stand in line. If guests knowing want to stand in line for hours to ride a ride, then it is their choice to make. If I see 180 minutes, I’m moving on though 😂

I was wondering the same thing and was about to post. That maybe BGs were so scaled back, that it never ran to its capacity. Of course, a good day with no breakdowns would help as well.
