Am I missing the thread for how standby is going today? I, like everyone else, am anxious to see how this is going to turn out, but I’ve looked everywhere and not seeing any posts from people that might be there today. If I’m just missing it, can someone link it here?! Thanks!

Oh good lordy. We are headed to WDW today with our first park day tomorrow at DHS. My daughter and friends think they are going to get up early to go wait for park open to get in line for ROTR. Nope, I am good. Been on three times in the past. No desire to wait in that mess. Star Tours sounds good to me. :)

Now, if I'm understanding the early entry for Disney hotels and "friends" - starting Oct 1st, this crowd would just be those folks right? But today, since we're pre-Oct 1st those folks are from EVERYWHERE....right? like locals, and all the hotels?

way too many folks for me!

That sounds likely. Just not sure how exactly you would get to the turnstiles if there was a huge crowd of non resort guests ahead of you.
Well, the pics from Twitter are inside the park - and they SHOULD have some turnstiles marked for the hotels allowed to have early entry....I've seen folks carrying around signs pointing folks in the direction of specific turnstiles...like when you used to get in early for pre-park dining reservations

my thought is ONLY the allowed "resorts guests" will be IN the park -the rest will be stopped at the turnstills at the front of the park...
I sincerely hope so otherwise what is the point of a 30 minute advantage to resort guests?

edited to add: [sarcasm on] in completely unrelated news to the pause of the VQ, G+/IAS$ marketing starts today due to long standby times seen at Hollywood Studios. [sarcasm off]

Touring plans has them at 43 minutes. Which is about what I would be willing to wait. We had such walk ons last month I barely got to check out all the cool stuff in line. And when I rode it the one time, we had to step out of line for the bathroom and got return passes so got right in at the preshow.
But also, this has me thinking this is how to build up the pressure to buy Lightning Lane.
