Stalking DISers.... continue here

How was your trip Renee!!!!

Hi Wendy!
Trip was nice - but "different". It was too much for my mother, and because of it, we didn't do as much as we normally do. She wasn't comfortable with a motorized scooter, so she rented a regular wheelchair, Dad pushed, and she barked orders. :rotfl2: (this was her first experience with a wheelchair and I think the "loss of being in control" was too much for her to handle.)
Dad was a saint, God bless him. There were a few times I would have sent her, with a push. :rolleyes1

We had some nice days and some frustrating ones. I felt like I was trying so hard to keep everyone happy that I was very stressed at times. I also was hit smack in the middle of the trip with "the joys of being a woman":rolleyes1, so that was pretty bad. I actually had to bow out of two days of touring because I was so bad.

I think just the three of us are going to return next June and do things a little differently than usual - ie: NO ADRS, spend more time at the Grotto Pool during the day and take more advantage of evening extra magic hours.
We will eat at the specialty restaurants at the Dolphin and Swan, the Cabana Bar at the Grotto Pool, and the Boardwalk, or counter service at Epcot. Only expection is we will make Fantasmic dinner reservations at The Brown Derby and see the show. that's it.

Don't get me wrong - it was a nice trip - I'm glad my parents had the opportunity to see the beautiful Dolphin and see WDW again - but it was just a bit nerve-wracking at times! ;)

Hope everyone is well and that you are all enjoying your summer...
Next week we head to Atlantic City for one night and my beloved Cape May for four nights! :beach:
Here are some pictures:
Could get used to this!

Glad you had some fun Renee. Dana's growing up fast, what grade is she going into now?

I know next year when we go to Disney in May we're bringing a stock of tennis shoes, socks, sweaters, and rain ponchos :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Hi Mandy!
Dana's going to be a junior in HS and is turning "SWEET 16"! :cheer2:

We took her to her first concert last week to celebrate - She, her friend and family and Bob & I (8 in total) went to see the JONAS BROTHERS! It was a blast, although we had seats in THE LAST ROW at the Izod Center! What a steep hike up those steps!! :scared1: But the seats were great - we could see everything - Jordin Sparks and "Honor Society" opened and they were terrific too. We all had a WONDERFUL time - even the DADS!

Aww prom will be here before you know it.

The seats don't look to bad judging by the pictures. How are your ears though after the Jonas Brothers? :rotfl:

Hey Friends!! I'm glad to see you all!! Renee it sounds like you had a good trip even if it was a little different! We went Memorial Day week and had a blast in spite of the rain. We stayed at Coronado Springs and loved it. I still haven't found a full time job but I am working part time which has been nice to be off some with the girls this summer. I have an interview for a full time position on Tuesday morning..please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I have booked us a quick 3 night trip in Nov for MVMCP...I got a Free Dining PIN & $60 flights down so we're going to get to see the castle lit up for Christmas! The girls don't know yet. We're going to wait until closer to the trip to tell them. Again it's good to see you all on here again!!

I have a very good ZOOM on my camera. :lmao: We were in the absolute last row of the Izod Center. It was hysterical. I had to stop a few times to catch my breath on the climb up! But there isn't a "bad seat" in the arena, so we were fine. Dana had hoped to be closer (as in, touching. :love:lol) but they were the best seats available, even after having a "pre sale perk" because of my credit card AND having them add a concert! Those young men certainly have a following!! :grouphug: My ears survived - lots of screaming, but we had quiet people around us. lol

Their bodyguard is "Big Rob" and he comes out for a part of one song and is in a video - he's got a following of his own - we bought our "BIG BOB" a tshirt and people stopped him all night, complimenting him! He's such a good sport! Both he and our friend John deserve "Father of the Year" awards - they came along and had a blast.

Good luck with the interview! I hope you get it!:thumbsup2
Christmas decorations should be lovely! Nice opportunity! Dana has a number of days off in November - trying to decide if the Fall Drama rehearsals will get in the way of us making a quick trip somewhere....

You sound like me, except now I'm looking at upgrading my camera again after two years. I get to plenty of shows so it's time for an upgrade at Christmas of course.

Anyone ever been to Isle of Palms, SC? I'm going there for a weekend in September and have never been in that so I have no clue what i'm getting into except music, friends, drinking, and no sleep for two days.

I would love to go to Disney in the winter time but till college is done I ain't going, May was good enough for me. Go in May for Disney, do CMA Fest in June, it all works out perfectly. :rotfl:

Never been there, but I JUST YESTERDAY finished reading "Isle of Palms" by Dorethea Benton Frank! Let me know what you think of it in person! ;)

I will. I'm going for a two day concert event and meeting up with a bunch of my friends. I feel sorry for SC after we terrorize it. :rotfl: It's my first time at the beach too so I'm excited.

Sounds like a the trip I had in May..... we have had a crazy busy summer... Daniel has been competiting in NY State Junior golf this summer and made it to the state championships which was last week.... he did well... his first year and he finished 41st in the state.... his goal was to finish in the top 50 so he was pleased.... then he competed in the Central NY PGA also and finished 11th out of 182... so he was happy with that.... Maggie is getting ready to go back to college next week... hardly saw her this summer... I guess thats what being a teeneager is all about... can't believe she is almost 20.... I booked a trip for Daniel, Tim and I for February.... we are staying at Shades of Green... now I just need to find some decent airfare... becasue so far I have only seen flights around $500... each.... hope everyone is having a great summer... off to the mall with Maggie....

She must have been on the early part of the June trip, before we arrived! ;)

Just back from Manhattan for a few days to finish celebrating Dana's Sweet 16. Saw "Mary Poppins" on Broadway - FRONT ROW SEATS and got to meet the cast afterwards. It was terrific! :cool1:

I have no memory I just remember her being around the same time frame, half of our meet ups didn't work out as planned. :lmao:

Aww Happy Sweet 16 Dana.

Back from Isle of Palms, I didn't get to take in to much of the beach with the lack of time I had down there. I will say this BUG REPELLENT!!! I came back with dime size bites all on my legs. The beach was nice though, very small quaint town. Three hotels total on the beach, we stayed outside of Isle of Palms at Mt. Pleasant. The hotel wasn't bad at all. I'll have to post some pictures once I get them on photobucket, I only have them on google right now.

sorry about the bug bites... that must be painful.... post some photos though ...

I head to the world in just a few days... we fly out Sunday morning... so excited.. this trip is just with my sister and her husband... our plan was to hang out by the pool and go to the food and wine festival alot... but the weather isn't looking so good... so maybe more time in the parks than we planned....

aslo working our Feb trip with DH and DS..... I feel bad for Maggie but she will be away at school... I am thinking of taking her down over the summer for a quick trip... she is going thry Disney withdrawl.

Things have been really busy here.... lets see

Maggie... well as I said is off for her second year of College... although she did take summer classes so its not like she had a long break... she is on the 3 year plan for her undergrad work... she is still dating Mike (almost 6 years)... and is still dancing..

Daniel.... busy boy... this is the last week of varsity golf... he broke the school record this season.. twice!!! Doing great in school... taking all college or AP classess... makes for a ton of homework but he manages... he is only a junior in high school but we figure at the rate he is going he should have his freshman year of college done by the time he graduates high school.... next up is hunting season for him.... we go from nice collared shirts to camo... yuk... then basketball

DH... well he hates his job... is looking for a new one... its really his boss he doesn't like... and he is grumpy every morning because of it.... there is a company that wants to hire him they just need to get it thru their HR department...

me... well busy as ever trying to keep everyone where they need to be and with what they need to have.... challenging when you have two boys at home...
