I’ve been reading the board so much over the past year and it has given me such great ideas! I’m such a procrastinator I figure if I start a pj now, I MAY get some of the details in here before the actual wedding. I’ll try to keep it updated, but it’s busy season at work, so no promises!!!

And so it begins….

Me: Stacey, 23, Benefits Coordinator, huge Disney fan (thanks mom & dad :goodvibes )
DF: Bruce, 25, LMSW, unaware that he too is about to become a huge Disney fan!

How we met:
It was purely coincidence actually. I was going to a community college, living at home and working part time. A friend of mine that I met at work was friends with DF, one night at her house we decided it would be a super great idea to start instant messaging randoms on her buddy list, I happened to pick DF’s screenname! We chatted online back in forth for a couple months, but he went to school in a different city so it kind of stayed like that. Then one day a few months later, I was supposed to work that night, but scheduling got mucked up and I got there and wasn’t needed, I gave my friend a call, she was meeting a bunch of people out at dinner, so I tagged along. And there it was ladies and gentlemen, as romantic as it gets, we met in the Applebees parking lot after we both tripped getting out of our cars…see it was meant to be! This was May, and we didn’t talk much after that until I went away to school. Then we decided, wow, now that we are 300 miles apart instead of 60, it would be an EXCELLENT idea if we started dating, :confused3 FABULOUS. And so it went, for the next two years practically every weekend was spent making the 3.5 hour trek back and forth on the beautiful scenic NYS Thruway :car: (ha). I graduated in 2005 and moved slightly closer (still a good 1.5 hours away however) so this continued for another year. Then finally he finished grad school and we landed in the same city!

The proposal:
Being ever the romantic and nice kid he is, DF knew I was itching to get engaged, so he kept saying things like “hey will you marry me?.... Good, just checking” For a good 6 months or so, I was NOT a happy camper. Then on October 23, he woke me up and said, will you marry me, I proceeded to smack him (not hard!), call him mean, and turn over to go back to sleep. Then he told me he was serious……. :headache: Ooooops! Ah that’s us, ever the romantic couple!

The Wedding:
June 7, 2008
Clarion Riverside Hotel

The Players:
MOH: LeAnn (sister of the bride)
BM: Debbie (cousin of the bride)
BM: Brianne (cousin of the groom)
BM: Cheryl (friend of the bride)
Best Man: Still up in the air?
GM: Justin (Brother of the groom)
GM: Jonathan (cousin of the groom)
GM: Joe (friend of the bride & groom)

(yes, all of the groomsmen have J names, ironically, one of the people we are batting around for the last groomsman is name Jason…. Weird)

After our wedding at home we will be Disneymooning from June 9-16 at POFQ. I can’t wait! I went what seemed like every year when I was growing up (again, thanks mom and dad). But if haven’t been since my senior year of HS, it’s been over 5 years, it’s KILLING ME! DF has only been once, and it was a school trip I guess and they only went to one park for part of a day, so its practically his first trip there, so excited!

More to come…

Don't have much time to post, post-christmas hubub and all! I hope everyone had a great holiday.

Our ceremony and reception will be in the same place, we rented two ballrooms and a mezzanine to accomodate the day, all of our guests are from out of town so i wanted to make the day as easy as possible on everyone, no driving around and getting lost, too much construction in Downtown rochester!

The Genesee Suites: This is the room our ceremony will be in, so the tables will obviously not be there! We will construct an altar at one end and create an aisle up the center.

The Mezzanine: I was unable to get pictures of this yet, but this is where our cocktail hour and hors d'ouvres will be served.

The Grand Ballroom: This is where the reception will be held, it's pretty big, 8100 sq feet and accomodates 1500 people, since i only have about 230 on the guest list, thats going to be a lot of decorating to make it not look empty :headache: But i Love it!

More to come soon! Thanks for reading (if anyone is! :goodvibes )

Your PJ is great so far! It sounds like you have some good ideas. We are honeymooning at POFQ too and we are really excited about it! Everyone I've talked to says it's gorgeous. Happy planning! :hippie:

Yay! Another WNY bride :)

DF and I are still doing the trek on the NYS thruway every weekend until we actually agree on a house (but Buffalo-Rochester isn't that bad)... lol.

Your PJ is great! The hotel looks beautiful :goodvibes

Thank you! Yea, buffalo to Rochester isn't bad, both of us are in Rochester now. We used to to trek between Fredonia & Syracuse - YUCK!

Oh my goodnes, this wedding is creeping up on me! Save the date cards were mailed this week. My mother did them and she did an excellent job, i don't have pictures yet (my digital camera is having a meltdown). But this is what the cards look like!

Almost have all of the bridesmaid dress orders ready, just holding out on one girl :headache: This girl owns a business making bridal gowns, she should understand she needs to order her dress!!!!!!!

The Maid of Honor will wear this:

She also has a white chiffon wrap to go with it, she says she has "lunch lady arm" issues, i think she's crazy :confused3

The Bridesmaids will wear:

My dress (which i've had since August and it's killing me that i can't wear it!!!)

All of the dresses will be Pool Blue, the David's site wouldn't let me save the blue images...

My tiara:

Still haven't decided on a hairstyle yet, my hair is so babyfine that it won't do ANYTHING. By the time you get one curl in and start the second, the first curl is gone! Any similar ladies out there with any ideas?

I booked our flights for our honeymoon a few days ago, making it seem that much more real, I can't wait to get back to Disney, it's been years!

Thats all for now, been crazy busy so i've been just lurking around reading everyone's PJ's, figured i'd make a quick post! :goodvibes

Ok, so i haven't updated in a while, i've been swamped at work :crazy2:

Few updates to make!

Flowers :flower3:
I couldn't find one bouquet that i really liked, so i took two, my florist (who is also a personal friend) will be combining the two into a hand tied bouquet, the ribbon to match my dress THe girls will be carrying just a few long stem Birds of Paradise (the orange flowers) with a TI or Banana leaf.

We decided on the cake, here is the picture of the inspiration, there will be the little dots on every layer, and no words, and the topper we havent decided on yet, the ribbon will be pool blue. I just wanted something simple, and again, we get hooked up as one of my mom's friends owns a bakery, she is making 4 tiers, 2 yellow cake with buttercream filling, 2 chocolate with buttercream filling, and it will be big enough for 200 - 230 ppl, and she is only charging me $200. :thumbsup2

Our invitations came in a week ago, i LOVE them Here is the web picture, we got them from Davids

My friend (and BM) Cheryl makes wedding gowns and such, she will be making little purses for everyone to carry so they don't have to buy purses or cart their big ones around.

My sister when she was in disney over christmas bought us this paperweight and had it engraved from Arribas, we will have it on the cake table next to our cake.

For namecards we will be doing sanddollars, much like Kristen if i remember correctly we discussed it when she first started her PJ. For favors we are doing custom water bottles, haven't chosen the design for that yet, leis (hey it's a tropical theme!) and something else, i haven't chosen yet.

We made our ADR's for the honeymoon:
6/9 - Boatwrights - 8:20 pm
6/10 - Le Cellier - 6:30 pm
6/11 - Liberty Tree Tavern - 8:50 pm
6/12 - Ohana - 9:45 pm
6/13 - Coral Reef - 8:50 pm
6/14 - Chef Mickeys - 10:30 am
6/15 - Sci Fi - 3:55 pm

My fiance is early to bed, early to rise (as in in bed by like 9 and up by 4:30 most days) I don't THINK so on my honeymoon! ;) So, i planned all of the dinners he wants to go to (his steak, his surf & turf) for late, so haha, you have to stay up :upsidedow

More to come i'm sure!

I know, it's crazy close, we actually had our tasting at our reception site, we just got home a little while ago, the food is SOOOOOO good :o)

I'm extremely excited about our ADR's, when we went when i was growing up, we never did sit down restaurants, so with the exception of Sci Fi, i've NEVER been to any of these places, i can't wait! Make sure you take food porn pictures to go along with your restaurant reviews!!!!:goodvibes

Once I booked my air tickets the realness really set in! Can't wait to read more!

Okay...now I want a wedding tooo!!!

So elegant and so simple and yet entirely beautiful!

I am a huge fan already of all of it...wish I could be there!:)

StaceyPrncs - your plans sound lovely. It must be fun making all these choices. Of course, you're probably stressed, but fun at the same time.
