Hi anyone ready for st.patricks day it is in 2 days is anyone dressing up bc i am decking out in green HAPPY ST.PATRICKS DAY!

i really dont like what st.patricks day has become. but anyway, my little group of irish girls are making quick faerie costumes to wear to the local renaissance festival. yup.

Yeah I am really Irish so I'am wearing a shirt tomorrow that says kiss me i am Irish!

I bought a green cami with a nice "preppy" shirt, a button down one... it looks nice.

Proud Irish-American here.

I shall be wearing my Irish-Brigade t-shirt coupled with a Pogues jacket.

Going to Shamrock Fest (Flogging Molly ftw).

After that off to the Dubliner in D.C. then to Flannigan's in Maryland.

i have a university audition, so i get the day off work.

i think my boyfriend & i are going to a party.
he got tickets to a lacrosse game which we are going to as well, should be fun.

2 years ago i was in Paris in St Patty's Day and I met a ton of Irish people and they all had irish flags draped around their shoulders and the pubs were PACKED full of irish people hehehe

What makes St.Patrick's day so special, besides it is a day to celebrate a Saint? What do you do to celebrate and why?

Well, like you stated, it's in celebration of Saint Patrick. It's his feast day. So, Saint Patrick's day is a religious holiday.

Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland so it's always been big with them.

MANY Irishmen and women imigrated to the USA. That's why we have it.

Places like Boston and New York have a huge Irish population so it was celebrated by them originally. It caught on as a tradition with other ethnic groups.

Coolio,thanks!

I have the strongest urge to wear a shirt that says,"Kiss me,I'm one thirty second Irish"

Go ahead. One thirty second Irish is better than not being Irish at all.
LOL .I don't know exactly what fraction of Irish I actually am,but I am apart Irish, according to my grandma.
