Yikes. I can't find anything for less than $104 each way (SWA). I've promised Isabella a special trip for the two of us to celebrate the adoption process. I was really hoping not to have to spend close to $430 with fees for the two of us to spend a week at WDW.

Any suggestions?

if you are from central illinios I would sugget checking into Bloomington, IL airport code BMI . It is a lot smaller airport with better rates going to orlando than st. Louis . They are offering American Airlines for 188 taxes included. Airtran also goes out of bloomington that has one direct flight a day. I believe they are around the same price or cheaper as well.

USA3000 flies from St. Louis to St. Pete for $59 each way. You would have to do the drive from St. Pete, but that's less than 2 hrs.

SWA usually has sale fares for May. We usually go at the end of May and have never paid more than $89 each way. However, the sale fares seldom become available until some time in March.

Thanks very much for your help. I'll check into both these options.

I'm watching for the SW sale. I'll fly into St. Pete or even Jacksonville if I can save enough money.

You can also try Trans Meridian Airlines, they fly out of the new airport in Illinois( Saint Louis Mid ameriaca airport)

They have cheaper fares from St. Louis to Sanford airport. But also like, USA 3000 you have to be flexible with your dates. They have some fares for 55.00 each way.

Just remember, Southwest and American fly into Tampa (TPA) from St. Louis, while USA3000 flies into St. Petersburg/Clearwater (PIE) from St. Louis. TPA is going to take you about 1-1.5 hours of drive time to Orlando add another 30 minutes to that from PIE. Jacksonville is close to 3 hours driving to Orlando.

$89 each way (which will be about $104 once you add taxes and fees) from St. Louis to Tampa is a pretty typical price, unless you get a great sale, usually on SW, and snatch up the seats very quickly.

Edited to add: I just priced a trip on USA3000 going from STL-PIE for $157 per person R/T. Flights are only available on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday (one per day.)

Unfortunately, since they released May's schedule, SWA hasn't budged on $104 o/w *before* taxes and fees, which makes for a fare of just about $250 rt. That is high for STL>MCO at that time of year for SWA. I haven't ever paid more than $200 rt after taxes, and usually considerably less.

I think we will have to wait until about 8-7 weeks out to see serious sale fares.

PS: Just re-checked, and things are a trifle better for my dates. SWA still shows $104, but once I price it out it drops to $96, for a total of $227 rt pp.
If I adjust the dates by one day for USA3000 into St. Pete, I get a rt of $146 pp. I need to go with SWA this time out, though; we have 2 RR tickets to use.
