Never been to St.Augutine before.Need help with planning a trip there on a budget.Any help would be great.

It depends on what you're aiming for, and your travel group. You can get a family friendly hotel on the beach, or you can get a cozy B&B right in the historic district. I can't comment on any in particular, I've never stayed in them (I live about 20 minutes away)

Go through the Castillo de San Marcos, check out the pirate museum, San Sebastian Winery, Fountain of Youth, Ripleys, take a trolley/train tour.. A bit to the south is Fort Matanzas and Marine Land. Google Red Trolley tours for maps and more info.

Oh! And DEFINITELY take a ghost tour. I personally prefer the walking tours, they're a little more relaxed. The pub tours are also pretty good. :)

We went last July for just a few days. Had a great time at the Pirate Museum. We were on a budget too. I rented a home through AirBnB.com and paid $95 a night for the whole house. It was a block from the beach. We cooked meals in when we could.

As for when to go, I would suggest as close to October as you can get. Summer down here is brutal. And St Augustine is the kind of place where you park your car and do a lot of walking. So I would keep that in mind.
