SSRmonkey Fall 2011 TR

During the video inside, some lady said, "Wow. I bet these people get tired of saying the same thing all day long." Really?!?! You don't think it might be a video?? I guess, then, Michael Jackson is still alive and performing approximately every 20 minutes as Captain EO. Alert the tabloids immediately!

Too Funny! :lmao:

I'm heading to WDW on Sunday -- your trip report is getting me even MORE excited. If that's possible!

Another great day here. We started out at AK and went right to the Safari. The line looked long so we got FP and headed out to the walking trail next door. I paid tribute to some long lost relatives.

DSC03060.jpg

Then I saw Uncle Chuck.

DSC03061.jpg

He didn't say hello, though. How rude! So I beat my chest for a bit and moved on.

It was time to go on safari! It was really hot today, so there weren't a lot of animals around, but we did see a few.

We saw some elephants.

DSC03098.jpg

And some giraffes.

DSC03094.jpg

After the safari I took a ride on a couple of hippos. Wide load, coming through.

DSC03072.jpg

Monkey see, SSRmonkey do.

DSC03073.jpg

Koala ran into another snake. Ew!

DSC03074.jpg

He found some friendly Koalas from the homeland...no Foster's though. He was disappointed.

DSC03075.jpg

I tried on some possible Halloween costumes for next year.

DSC03082.jpg

This one's my favorite.

DSC03076.jpg

This might work well for my next Jerry Springer appearance.

DSC03079.jpg

I stopped for a drink. All the goats I've ever met have been pretty cool. They're always offering treats like milk and fudge, so I thought their wine would be really good too. Nope! I'll stick to other beverages that have nothing to do with animals.

DSC03081.jpg

I learned a new levitation trick--it's so real, I even have a guy below me.

DSC03083.jpg

All those episodes of Chriss Angel, Mindfreak have paid off.

On the next walking trail in Asia we saw some very sleepy cats. I bet my evil cat, Chloe is sleeping too. Either that or she's chewed her way out of the house by now.

DSC03109.jpg

Just before we left, we saw Tigger in his natural habitat. I think he's probably adapted to the Hundred Acre Wood and it would be safer for him to stick around there. I offered him a ride on the hippos to MK, but he said no and went bouncing off. I guess he and hippos don't mix.

DSC03122.jpg

We are hanging out at SSR for a while until it cools off and then we will head to MK for the evening.

Tomorrow I am going to find a helmet and ask a cast member about Disney's plan in case the satellite crashes here. We know they have hurricane and tornado plans, I wonder how well-prepared they are for space junk.
Don't worry, SSRMonkey, we've done this before! In 1979 Skylab, the first space station, crashed to the Earth:

The Compton Gamma Ray Observatory satellite:

Then came the Russian MIR space station:

So you see, Monkey, it'll be ok. As long as it misses WDW, we'll all be just fine! :thumbsup2

Oh, and thanks for the TR!!

We are arriving on Friday night, staying at the TreeHouse - probably getting in around 9 - 9:15 p.m. My boys remember meeting you at the Beach Club the one time we stayed there. They are teenagers now. We are celebrating the younger one's 14th birthday which is on Saturday.

Hope you're having a great time!

I love your reports!

It sounds like you're having a wonderful time. Thanks for keeping us in the loop and sharing the pictures. I love reading about your fun times. :thumbsup2

ThanK you for putting a smile on my face tonight.:goodvibes can't wait for the TR to continue.

We had a lot of fun this afternoon and evening. After a quick nap, I headed down to the new pool to take some pictures. I really, really, really hope that my aunt sends me that hazmat suit because I really want to go on the slide the next time we come.

DSC03143.jpg

The kids play area looks really fun too.

DSC03147.jpg

I think I'm going to see if I can get Dad to airbrush these kind of horses on my Power Wheels Camaro at home.

DSC03145.jpg

After wandering around for a while, we went over to MK. Since Grandma and Grandpa have never been here before, we thought that they should experience the animatronic freak show, A.K.A. Country Bear Jamboree. I almost got kicked out because I was booing, but Mom let me play with her phone. I only called Korea twice. (I'm trying to find the lady who sewed me together to tell her thanks.)

Next we went to Thunder Mountain RR. It was fun. We got a little wet from some rain, but it felt pretty good after it being so hot today.

We got some dinner at Colombia Harbor House. The kids mac and cheese is excellent.

Then it was time for a history lesson at the Hall of Presidents. My other Grandma loves George Washington, so I took this picture for her. I think I'm much more adorable.

DSC03179.jpg

I tooted my own horn. Ok, I tooted somebody else's horn.

DSC03181.jpg

And then had a much more laid back salute to America. (The security guards at the gate confiscated my fireworks. Next time I'll bring my glow sticks.)

DSC03180.jpg

DSC03182.jpg

We tried to go back to the Laugh Floor, but it was closed. We went on Buzz Lightyear and then onto the Peoplemover.

Then it was time for fireworks! This was the first time we watched Wishes from Main Street. It was much cooler there than behind the castle.

DSC03185.jpg

Unfortunately, Grandma and Grandpa are leaving tomorrow and we are switching to a studio. We'll check out and check in again and then probably do some shopping...Koala accidentally broke Mom's sunglasses today while he was doing his Jersey Shore impressions, so we have to get some new ones in the morning. Then we'll be off to Epcot in the evening. Time for this monkey to get some sleep.

Glad you are having so much fun. Sorry your Uncle was so rude but he is a handsome thing. Loved the cats taking a nap.

Monkey....can you ask your parents where was it in AK that the pictures of the wine bottles were taken? Coming for Christmas and doing the cruise after WDW and I want to purchase wine to take on board. Thanks.

SSRMonkey - I love your button down shirt from last night. You look so handsome. I'm glad you had fun at the MK and that you were able to enjoy Wishes from Main Street. I hope you have a good day despite the grandparents leaving. Hoping your studio is ready early!!

Today's been a bit of a slower day for us. We checked out and back in again around 9am. Our studio was ready right away so we unloaded the car again and settled in. Then Mom and Dad left to do some shopping. I convinced them that I was responsible enough to stay in the room with Koala while they were gone. I told them we would just watch Sesame Street--I can't believe they bought it.

As soon as they left we tied the bed sheets together and escaped via the balcony. I couldn't risk being seen at the door...plus they didn't leave a room key for us. We made it as far as the guard house and almost got hit by a Cruise Line bus. So we thought we better head back. We climbed back up our makeshift ladder and just got the bed put back together before Mom and Dad got back. Whew! Mom sure will be surprised tonight when she finds the lizards in the bed.

DSC03138.jpg

We headed back out to Earl for lunch. I had PB and J this time. Yummy! Then we picked up a couple things at WOD. It rained pretty hard for a little bit this afternoon, so I hope that it cooled it off a bit. We're headed to Epcot again tonight to ride Soarin and TT. Maybe we'll get one of the really cool new TT cars.

I'll post some pictures when we get back.

Cindy-I hope you and your family have a great time at the treehouses. I would love to stay there and swing through the trees, but Mom and Dad veto that every time. Someday I'll figure out how to contact MS and change our reservations. Have a safe trip and have fun!

HarlemGirl- The wine is in the gift shop closest to the safari. I can't remember the name of the shop, but they had a few different kinds of wine available.

Today was an interesting day. I realized tonight that I might be the victim of identity theft. Has anyone seen this new Duffy character at the parks? He's the new Disney bear that has all sorts of outfits and can be seen in various countries around the World Showcase and even the other Disney parks. I'm very concerned that he has been reading my blog for years and decided that he could copy my gig and make some money off of it. Here are some of the similarities:
-We are both adorable
-We both have an extensive wardrobe
-We can both be seen around the parks in Disney World
-We both have fans

Clearly I have him beat at his own game. Tomorrow I'm also going to set up an area where my fans can do a meet and greet with me. Right after I file a police report with my buddy, Buzz the security guard.

I at least want a cash settlement out of the deal. I'll have to call my other aunt who is an attorney and see how strong my case is.

This evening we headed out into the rain to Epcot. It drizzled for most of the evening, but Koala and I had our rain suits so it was ok. We were going to get FP for TT, but it was down so we decided to head for Soarin' instead. We got FP and were about an hour away from go time. We went to the Art of Disney store and then to Mexico and to Figment and then back to Soarin. The FP were only 40 minutes ahead so we got another FP and jumped onto the ride. They refilled the orange canister that was empty the other day!

We hadn't eaten dinner yet, so we grabbed a big cookie and then got back into the FP line for Soarin.

It was still raining so we decided to head out and get some wings for dinner. Koala got so much BBQ sauce on him that we tied him to the roof on the way home. All clean! As an added bonus, he has that windblown look going on. The ladies seem to love that.

We were going to go to the pool, but we saw some lightning on the way home, so we opted to watch the season premier of The Office instead. Dwight is my favorite! For those of you that watch The Office regularly...do not try to put a Koala in Jjello and put him in your Mom's desk. First of all, the Koala will complain incessantly about which flavor of Jello you have chosen. Secondly, said Koala will not sit still long enough for the Jello to set. And last, but not least, Moms do not appreciate gelatinous things in their desk regardless of the flavor of jello. (I am also not a paid spokesperson for Jello, but would be willing to take over for Bill Cosby at any time.)

Tomorrow we're going to sleep in for a bit in the morning in preparation for a late night at MNSSHP. We might head to the pool tomorrow or into Epcot again or DHS. We'll see what the morning brings. I'm very excited for MNSSHP, though. My costume is all ready. Good night!

All I can say is Thank you, Thank you, Thank you SSRMonkey for your posts. I ALWAYS enjoy your pictures and your adventures.

Well, after Mom got rid of the lizards in the bed...Koala kept me up most of the night with questions about the Hall of Presidents. He wanted to know if George Washington was the single father of our country. There was no mention of the mother or our country, but there were a couple of dresses in the lobby. Those could be explained in any number of ways. I explained that George Washington was married to Martha , but Koala still didn't believe me. Where does he think Martha Washington geraniums come from? I have a bit more convincing to do.

Last night we saw a girl in a stroller who kept playing with the wheels as the stroller was in motion. Her mom said, "If you cut your fingers off, you won't be able to pick your nose." What?!? There may have been a better way to handle that situation...like putting a recording in all of those rented strollers that's the same as the rides. You know, "While the vehicle is in motion, please keep hands, feet, Koalas and Monkeys inside the vehicle until it comes to a complete stop." Or, "Por favor, mantenganse se alejado de las puertas". Perhaps that would be better than the possibility of never being able to pick one's nose in the future. Just sayin'.

We slept in this morning. Not sure what we're going to do this morning other than pack up some stuff. We'll be late coming home from MNSSHP and unfortunately we have to leave to go home very early tomorrow morning. I have to go back to my job of terrorizing my evil cat, Koala has to file for unemployment as he was recently laid off from the USPS. I can't believe he didn't get fired before this because he would come home covered in self adhesive stamps. Try getting those out of his fur. Goo gone doesn't work so well on fur. I'll be sure to show you my costume before the party!

It's almost time to party! We had a fantastic lunch at Paradisio 37 at DTD. It started out with fried macaroni and cheese bites. I have to get a recipe to make these at home because they were awesome!! Then I had a pineapple bacon burger. It was excellent!

We picked up a couple last minute things at DTD and headed back here to get ready for MNSSHP. I'm afraid it might rain tonight, but we've got our rain suits, so even if it does we should be good.

So, here's my costume!!

DSC03193.jpg

I'm pretty excited about Dad going as Christopher Robin. He's going to carry me around tonight. Too bad my Pooh costume is a little small. Too many mac and cheese bites.

Ok, time to go. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures.

Very cool costumes, both of you. Have a lot of fun.

Live update from MNSSHP! My dragon milk joke got into the Laugh Floor show. There are more people in cotume this year. Back to trick or treating!
