We are going the week of November 27th and was wondering 1. Can we still swim at that time and 2. Where is the best place to stay at SSR, near the High Springs pool or elsewhere.... I know they do Fireworks at DTD but we wont' be up that late to watch them (12 midnight)...

Thanks

Alida

We are here now. I am in a Studio in the Congress Park area. We have a great view of downtown Disney. It is really beatiful. The down side it is pretty far fronm everything. But I would love to stay here again.

Are you far from the High Springs Pool? I requested that today, although I'm not sure how much swimming we can do in late Nov, early Dec.

Overall how are you enjoying your stay> Do you hear the fireworks at night, is it quite or hectic with DTD so close?

Take care and enjoy, wish we were there now too!!!!

High Rock Spring is about a 5-7 minute walk from the buildings in Congress Park at a leisurely pace. That's about the same amount of time it takes to get from a room in the Beach Club Villas to Stormalong Bay. If you don't wish to walk, you can jump on ANY theme park bus circling the complex and get dropped-off right outside the pool in about 30 seconds.

The pool will be open when you visit and all WDW pools are heated. Whether you decide to swim is up to you. The weather could get as high as the 80s during that time of year, although upper 60s/low 70s is more common. You'll have to check the forecast and plan accordingly.

IMO, there is no noticable distraction from Downtown Disney when staying at these buildings.

The rooms have been specially designed to insulate much of the noise from the fireworks. With doors and windows closed, you won't hear more than a slight pop outside. In the 5 nights we stayed, nobody from our party (3 adults, 2 children) was awakened by the fireworks. Oh, and they only last for about 30 seconds.

I'm sure my kids will swim regardless of how cool/warm it is. Another thing I was wondering about was the construction noise. Aren't they continuing to build at SSR, is it noticeably noisy or messy due to the construction. Do you know when that is set to end.

Thanks again!!

By the time you arrive, the remaining exterior construction will be relegated to areas of the resort which guests cannot even access. The primary site will be along the edge of the golf course, and there are currently no SSR buildings in this vicinity.

Construction on these final units is expected to run through 2007.

We stayed in the "springs" last month. Construction was across the pond from us and we did not hear any noise. I liked this building, it does not have a DD view, however, is across the street from the pool. It was about a 3 minute walk.

the room is very quiet. We don't even hear the fireworks nightly at Pleasure Island.
