SSR vs OKW

We enjoy trying out all the resorts, and these are the two we're looking at for our next trip. Any thoughts from those of you have been to both/either? I have heard SSR is new, but there is construction going on for a new phase. OKW is older, but not sure if they've kept up with remodeling, etc. Also, we're curious about the atmosphere of both.

okw has definitely kept up with the upkept....

SSR is beautiful too fancy for my style (some would ask what style) -

I stayed in Congress house - the construction was not a problem at all.

being close to DD that I could see it and go spend money was a BIG problem....

I have been to both resorts recently, and to me there is no comparison. OKW has a more relaxed atomsphere, the rooms are much larger, and although it is the first DVC resort, it has been maintained very well over the years. Of course, it is my home resort and my opinion is slightly biased.

I have owned at OKW for about 7 years now. When the deal for SSR came up...I had to buy in. I just got back from SSR in January and I honestly do not think I will ever go back to OKW.

1. The elevators at SSR are a nice touch
2. The layout of the property is much more compact and easier/quicker to walk from one end to the other
3. I love walking 3mins from Congress Park to DD
4. It IS newer after all..very clean and new
5. Spa is amazing
6. Quiet pools are much more elegant and relaxing
