SSR Treehouse and OKW Grand Villas

How easy are either of these to book at 7 months? Do you need to be an owner to get them?

Primarily thinking February, April, and Summer for them, based on school travels.

DH and I love the treehouses for resort staycations, so we’d likely try in Jan/Feb, May, Sep/Oct for those as well.

Definately NOT easy, especially OKW GV, but the treehouse are often available for a few nights (not weeks at a time) and start to dissappear at 7 months for school holidays

I would say the treehouses are generally easy to book. But not April if you're including Easter.

During April the last 2 years I would have been able to book either of those at 7 months and even for awhile after that. It was not Easter. We've also stayed in a THV in February and don't own at SSR and it's been an available option often when looking at 7 months. I'd rank the OKW GV as more difficult at 7 months but not impossible during certain times of the year. I'd also rank the THV as very probable during a lot of the year.

Treehouses are usually open during the DVC low to moderate demand season from the Monday after marathon weekend in Jan to late Sep, and that usually includes holiday times; more difficult, but still some chances, in the high to extremely high demand season from late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan.

The near Hospitality House OKW GVs are usually never open at 7 months out except for possibly a stray day here and there. The rest of the OKW GVs are difficult in that high demand season, and available about 60% of the time the rest of the year: usually difficult during any holiday times and the month of June, often available during the lowest DVC demand times of the year: Feb 1 to the Thurs before Presidents Day, last week of April, and July 7 to 31.

Caveat to the above: next year could see variations in demand patterns that have not existed before for two reasons: (a) the new point charts shifting of points to the high demand season from the May to mid-Aug times; (b) the impact the coronavirus resort/park closings and economic changes might have on 2021 reservations
