We have a 5:10 ADR at Whispering Canyon at WL on Oct. 6 before going over to MNSSHP. We are staying at SSR. What would be our fastest way from SSR to WL:

bus, boat, or walk from SSR to DTD
bus from DTD to WL

or

bus from SSR to MK
boat from MK to WL

TIA

I vote for the bus to MK. Because there, you then have a choice of either the bus or boat to WL.

Hmmm . . . .. . . neither of these really sounds good, does it? If you're staying in the "Congress Park" section of SSR, I think the walk-bus combination might be the safest, unless you have children with you that might not appreciate the walk.

The difficulty with the boat is that it may only run every half hour, and if you just miss it, you're stuck. Plus, without a car, it will still take time to get to the SSR boat dock.

And with the SSR busses, there are lots of stops.

Another option that comes to mind is to take the first theme park bus that comes along - MK, Epcot, or Studios - then transfer to the WL bus from there. Neither of the other two parks is particularly out of the way from there.

And if a Contamporary bus appears at the theme park before a WL bus, you might even hop on that one, then catch the CR-WL boat.

But I'm probably making this more complex than it needs to be.

You're seeing here the biggest weakness of the WDW transportation system - getting from resort to resort can be a real challenge. I think the DTD route may well be your best.

Hi Karen,

I know it wasn't one of your options, but the easiest way to get there would be by taxi!

Enjoy,

Bob

I agree with Bob P. You will save yourself a lot of stress about being on time for your ADR by taking a taxi to WL from SSR. It will be well worth the extra dollars. On the way back to your resort, you can take your time. I would definitely take the bus to MK then switch right over to the SSR bus stop. Avoid the DTD route at all cost unless you want to go there and spend time after your dinner. From WL that route took forever. If you really don't want to take a taxi, take the bus to MK and walk over to the WL bus stop. Once the bus comes, it only takes 5 minutes at the most to get from MK since it doesn't make any other stops. The boat from MK to WL can take awhile, especially if it goes to Fort Wilderness first before stopping at WL. If you aren't in a hurry though it's a pleasant ride.
