We just returned from a quick 3 day trip to Saratoga Springs and WDW. This was our third stay at SSR since it opened (We also own at BWV & VWL). I know that there are a lot of "SSR-bashers" out there, so if you are one of those, go read something else.
We stayed in the newly opened "The Springs" building, just in front of the main pool. We had a 1 bedroom on the first floor facing the construction across the lake. We had the oppurtunity to wander around the resorts new area and just loved the landscaping and the attention to detail. We can tell that when the new section is opened across the lake it too will be beautiful.
The construction seems to have picked up since our last visit back in December. They are tearing down the old fairway villas along the side of the LBV golf course. There was routine maintenance going on at different parts of the property, so everything was in great shape.
The shop at Artist's Palette had lots of new DVC merchandise. There was also an offer to get a "pal mickey" with a DVC member t-shirt. We didn't eat there this time.
The turf club was a great place to stop for a cocktail, we sat out on the patio overlooking downtown. It was mid-week in the early afternoon, so no one else was around.
We shot around the parks 1 day. We went to see "lucky the dinosaur" at AK. It was incredible. Everyone has to see him. We went to Epcot to try soarin' but when we got there we didn't want to wait 20 min. (are we lazy or what?). We ate at Sunshine Seasons in the land pavilion. Good food at reasonable "disney" prices. We then took the monorail to MK to see the castle and ate again at the new terrace noodle station. It was fantastic! the pot stickers are great!!!
We also pikced up our DVC exclusive pins for the 50th
We went back to SSR and just walked around the resort. Then sat on the patio.
We've come to realize that you really have to be able to relax to enjoy SSR. If you are one of those folks who can't sit still or have to get the full value of your park pass (opening til' closing) this place isn't for you.
We love SSR and look forward to going there again.

Great trip report, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear you love my ''home''. :cloud9:
I agree that relaxing is a ''must- do'' at SSR. Didn't realize how happy I would be just chilling out at WDW until I stayed there.
I'm happy to hear that got in more DVC merchandise, can't wait to buy more in Nov!
Did you love to see lucky? I hear here's only going to be there until July, so I won't get to see him.
Hoping someone's pins for the 50th show up on e-bay soon, so I can get my hands on them :rotfl:
Thanks for reporting
:)

I love your style!

Thanks for sharing the details of your trip with us!

Thanks for sharing! We just went home to SSR this past February and while DH was concerned it would get too big - I loved the theming and access to DTD can't be beat!

Hi,

Glad you had a good time!!! Can't wait to go in a few weeks!!!!

Ms. Sparrow aka Allison

DH and I agree completely with you. We were just there for 4 nights, never went to any of the parks, loved walking around the new area and think it will be beautiful when complete. DH played golf, I had the best massage ever and the next day pedicure. Lazy days lounging by the pool and evenings sitting on the back porch enjoying our view of DTD. Our last day we took the plunge and did our 2nd add-on, looking for next stay when work will let us take a few more days.

Glad to hear you had a great time. It makes us that more excited. We are leaving for our first trip home on June 16th. We took the DVC tour May 2004 right before the resort was open. It looked wonderful. 32 days and counting and we can't wait.

:cool1: Thanks for the report. We love SSR too. Can't wait until August. Third time down this year. Tee :cheer2:

Thanks for the great report! Where exactly in the MK is the new terrace noodle station? I hadn't heard about it and it sounds interesting.

We bought into SSR last summer onboard a D cruise. We made the final payment in March and are very excited to be DVC members. Your report is very accurate - we stayed in SSR for 3 nights in April and will be back there again in December. It was very pretty, relaxing, very quiet and great location to walk over to downtown area.
We're looking forward to a family reunion in Vero Beach in June - we got a beach house!! Just love that Disney spirit!

We were there at the same time.Did get on soarin only had a 5 min wait. That is a great ride. :teeth: We did spend most of our 5 days at the pools. The weather was very good lots of sun.We have stayed 3 times now and SSR gets better with every visit. Oct. will be our 4th trip home. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks for the report. I totally agree that something about SSR is just so...relaxing. I love it there!
