I am looking to buy SSR 150 point package.

Disney is selling at $87 * 150 = $13,050 (I think it include 2005 usage)

Resell cost: $78 * 150 = $11,700 - The usage is Aug,2005 - no points now.
Closing cost: $475
2005 Mainteance: $574
Total Resell cost: $12,749

Am I only saving only $301 for going through resell? It doesn't seem to worth the trouble. I may even have hard time finding $78 per points.

now the incentive from disney is $87.00 per point, plus they pay dues until the end of 2005! No closing cost...they send all the paper work and your done. You can book you trip as soon as you get your member id ( it comes with the paper work!) No hassle at all :flower:

They are also paying dues for first time buyers? Or is this the add-on deal you are refering to Mom?

excellent deal!

Taking some friends with us the first week of April for a week, so maybe that will be enough to convince them to buy!

As someone who is currently finishing up the resale process -- trust me, it is NOT worth the trouble for $301!

Remember if you know someone who owns already you can become a member by buying 25 points in full (cash or your own unsecured financing) and then buying an add - on for the additional points you need. If you buy a 120 point add on you can get a one time 100 point bonus first year...a nice way to extend your vacation or upgrade your room!

My sister own 200 points. Are you saying that my sister can sell me 25 points from her contract so that I can become a member and buy add-on?

I would be very interested in the answer to this too! I have relatives and co-workers who have been all over me since we started looking into DVC ("When are WE going? When are WE going?") It would be the perfect way to tell them to go get their OWN DVC! :rolleyes1

You cannot break up your points and sell off parts. That is a theory on why big contracts are often up for grabs on the resale boards. Disney can take your points (if they were to buy them in a ROFR situation and break them up however they choose).

There are tiny contracts out there, but they are hard to find.

Can someone tell me the min contract you can get through Disney? (first sale and add-on)

the min. to buy from disney is 150....then 160....then200 and so on. ( this is for a new sale, at SSR)

So your sister would have to have a 25 point add on to sell you!

The minimum is 150 for any original purchase, but larger purchases may be in any increment - 151, 152, 153, etc.

Add-ons have a 25 point minimum too, but may be in any increment too (26,27,28, etc.)

Maximum ownership is 2000 points at any resort for a unique membership and 5000 points at multiple resorts.

The way that it would work would be this.

1. You would give them the appx $2500 to buy a 25 point add-on.

2. They would then do something called a "quit-claim" which costs less than $100 at a local attorney or Disney will do it for $150. This would GIVE you the 25 points and award you full membership in the DVC.

3. You then purchase a 120 point (or more) add on and finance through Disney (if you wish) which would give you the $8/pt incentive along with free 1st year dues and a one shot 100 point bonus to use or bank for next year.

The only advantages to this is the 100 point bonus that you can use or rent out for about $1000 and the fact that you can buy any size ownership over 25 points if you pay it in full to start with.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions let me know, I would be glad to help!

Don't I have to pay $200 for Disney transfer? I don't think I will save much money. I am leaning toward just buying it from Disney with the current incentive.

If you do it with a local attorney. It only costs about $75. Plus you get the 100 bonus points which you can rent out for about $900 or use them... *shrug*
