SSR Resales?

Why are there so many SSR resales? We went on a tour there last year and thought it was beautiful. It wasn't the right time for our family to purchase but we would consider it. I am just shocked at the amount of resales listed for that location as opposed to others. What is everyones opinions on this topic? :

I think that largely has to do with the size of SSR. It is currently the largest DVC resort. So if there are more points, then logically, there would be more resales.

There are plenty of happy SSR owners that post here all of the time.

That is the reason why I often wonder about the resales. I loved the look and feel of the resort, and am always that others feel the same way.

Its all proportional to size of the resort, compared to the number of owners.

This is has been asked many times before and besides the size of SSR (therefore more resales) I agree with this thought:

OKW, BWV, VWL, BCV are older resorts that were on sale years ago therefore most of these puchases have already been paid off.

SSR is newer/just a few years old so there are a lot of people out there making these extra monthly payments. With the economy on the down slide right now and many people feeling the financial pinch, extra things (like timeshare) are the first things to go.

Soooo, since some people cant afford the extra payments it goes to resale. And since most of the payments being made right now are from SSR purchases its easy to conclude that there are a lot of SSR resales.

I'm guessing that in a few years we'll see a lot of AK resales.

I posted the same question about 3 weeks ago. You might want to review that thread..it had quite a few responses....many reasons given, but the fact is that it continues to be the resort with the most resales (many more than even second place).

The other posters are very correct: It's all proportional to size of the resort. SSR has 7X the the number of maximum available rooms, compared to the VWL (a smaller DVC resort).

What also throws people is the increase in SSR resales (recently). SSR sales are now complete after 5 years of selling. Accordingly, there's been an increase in listings for SSR resales as this timeframe came to an end.
