I have a question
My wife and I can't afford the current prices for SSR but we want to have SSR as our home resort. How long will it be until there will be SSR for resale? I am new to this and I would appreciate any help:D
My wife and I went to Disneyworld and we fell in love with it. Now we want to go back every year. Thanks for the help.

its hard to tell, everyone lives change quite often, someone may purchase SSR and then may have to sell it a few months later for some reason.
the BCV was the last resort sold and you hardly see bcv for resale, the VWL was the one before the BCV you dont see tooo many of those i would have to guess at least a few years, but you never know.::yes::

I think you will see one or two soon after the closings start to take place but I don't think you will see any good deals. The other problem will be the number of points in the contract. It may not be what you are looking for. The price will probably be right up there near Disney's too with you having to pay the closing costs and finding a way to finance it too.

If you really want SSR why not just a few less points now than what you want in the end and add on later. Buying from Disney is very easy as is the financing.

I agree. People that just bought SSR are very unlikely to sell right now. If they had to sell, they couldn't sell it for too much cheaper than they bought it for because Disney has the Right Of First Refusal. Disney has the most concern about keeping the price of SSR up and would probably buy back an SSR if someone was selling it too cheap. So if SSR is too expensive, wait a few years or buy another resort. SSR is going to be fairly large and you shouldn't have a problem booking there within your 7 month window unless you are always going to want to stay on holidays or other very popular times

Have you considered buying SSR with the Magical Beginnings offer that brings it down to $79 per point. I think the offer lasts to April 4th for new members.

If you expect costs for SSR to fall in the near future, do not hold your breath.

I cannot tell from your post if are saying the price is too high or if you cannot afford the expense at this time

thanks

Also, look into your own financing. If you tie the loan into your house you can probably get a better rate than Disney can offer you. Ours is literally costing us $30/month over the same 10 year period Disney has.

You might want to consider buying a resale and make Old Key West your home resort instead.

It would be a lot cheaper. You could still book SSR for all your trips. The only bad point would be instead of booking SSR 11-months before your trip, you could not start booking until 7-months before your trip. I suspect this will not be too much of an issue though, since SSR will eventually become DVC's largest resort, and there should be adequate room availability.

The other negative is the SSR contract runs until 2054, while OKW will run out January 31, 2042. However, this may not be an issue for you. Click on top of this page on "DVC Resales." This will bring you into some OKW resales. As well as resales for the other DVC resorts. Good luck with your purchase. ::yes::
