SSR Report...LONG!

Developer Points are a separate incentive from the $10 discount you received. They are an option that allows you make a reservation using points for a trip prior to May 1, 2004. If you accept the Developer Points, you will pay $89 per point for the SSR purchase.

Make sure you do the math before choosing this option.

Enjoy!

The mailing I received from DVC had a "mailout" financing sheet which did not include the $10 per point incentive. Also, the interest rate was quite high. What interest rate for Disney financing have people received recently for SSR? I don't have enough room on my home equity line to pay more than 1/3, so I'd need to finance the remainder through Disney, but I'm not interested in paying more than I currently pay on my credit cards! (The mailout quote was10.75%, or 9.75% for direct debit.) We're going to Disney next week, but I'd like to have the financials figured out before we go, so that if we like the place, we can sign up while we're there if we can swing the money.

9.75% (with direct debit) is the best Disney has been offering lately and that is very competitive with typical timeshare financing.
(There is also 4.95% loan for 1 year with a 50% downpayment available thru DVC.)

The $10 discount is available, but is usually only offered during the onsite tour. I'm certain is you inquire about it, you can get that benefit without taking the current tour. The discount incentive is reportedly available thru October 31, but DVC can always extend it if they feel they still need the extra sales push.

Enjoy!

Doc,

As you may remember, we've only dealt with DVC over the phone, and when I first called up Jim McCoy, he offered the SSR $10/pt discount right away. True, it was in the context of "we never know when they'll either extend it or end it early", but he brought it up.

Doc~ Can you please explain again what the Developer Points exactly are? I am just not getting it. Also, say I wanted to add on 25 points at SSR. Am I eligible for the 10% down and no payments until 5/04? Thanks!

The incentive is mentioned with personal contact (tour/phone call) but is not usually sent in the mailed info. They want the opportunity for the direct contact.

Developer Points are in lieu of the $10 incentive. for 150-210 points you can get up to 100 DP. 211-261 points gets you up to 160DP, etc. You can use these DVC points for any DVC and onsite WDW options up until April 30, 2004. (50 DP is for 100-149 points).

For DVC financing you need to buy at least 50 points, but I think you can use the 10% down - no payment until closing next spring.

Thanks for the info. We were hoping they made a decision about the treehouses. We miss them sooo much!

Did they mention if Golf carts will be available for rent like when it was Disney Institute villas

There has been no mention of golf carts. Since the layout and style of the new resort is so much different than what preceded, the golf cart program won't likely fit in with the theme of SSR. I'd be surprised to find a return of that availability.

I will definitely be surprised to find any inclusion of the Treehouse Villas into the SSR or DVC.
