SSR Question

My parents are members of the DVC and their home resort is SSR. We were there a year ago in October and will be going back next October. When we were there last year only a few buildings were open and we were along the lake with a very short walk to DTD which we liked becuase there were 12 of us including my parents, my family, and my sisters family. We really liked being close to DTD because the older kids liked to have someone take them over in the evenings for a walk to trade some pins. We used the pool only once and didn't use the main building at all. What I am wondering is if there is anyway to request buildings or are you just assigned when you arrive. The other thing that I am wondering is if some of the new building are starting to get to be a long walk to DTD? Our last location was awesome...it literally took just a few minutes to make the trip. We will be staying in a studio and a 2 beedroom suite if that matters.

You could request Congress Park on your reservation. It's not a guarantee, but it would help your chances of getting the location you want.

Congress Park are the the buildings along the water that have a view of DTD. But to tell you the truth, it's not a bad walk even from the Paddocks or the Springs. You could also walk over to the main building where the boat launch is and take a boat to DTD. The Paddocks have 5 buildings (I believe) and the last building is way over by Congress Park, very close to the walkway.

Request Congress Park and see what happens. The last Paddock building is a good second option.
