the best building and/or room for our vacation.

I must tell you that will be 8 of us (2 adults and six children) using our DP´s, as there are many kids I would like a room in a building near to everything:

- Near to the check in/out
- Near to the restaurants
- Near to the main pool (would bebetter with a pool view if we can request it...)
- And most of all near to the buses.

If somebody have had a room on that location, I will appreciate if you let me know to try to request the same room/building.

Thanks so much....

no rooms over look the main pool. Have you seen a map of SSR? Just ask for the Springs or the Grandstand. Both those areas will fit your needs. In the grandstand area you could request near the pool.

We've only stayed at SSR once and LOVED it!!! We had a room on the 3rd fl at the end of the hall. From the balcony we looked at the golf course and the Carriage House. We were in the Grandstand section. There was a smaller pool there which my children loved. The carriage house was really close and so was the bus stop. My in-laws are DVC members and that is their home resort. We're planning on staying there in April of next year.:yay:

GrandStand area is easy walk to Carriage House which is where check-in, Artist Palette (Counter Serve) & Turf Club (restaurant) are located as well as main feature pool - High Rock Springs and arcade, community hall (activities for kids, etc. throughout day). Grandstand also has it's own pool with some fun features kids will enjoy and a beverage station. I believe Grandstand also is first pickup for bus going to parks (just know that there are couple more bus stops after Grandstand that bus will go to before it leaves SSR) and also Grandstand will be first stop for bus when coming back to SSR.

This link shows map of SSR. Enjoy your trip !

Easy pick - GRAND STAND. Ask for the building that faces the pool. This will put you a few easy steps from a great pool experience for the kids, snacks, drink station, hot tub for the adults that need rejuvenating after the commando raids on the parks, and of course a nice bar to smooth out the wrinkles. It is a very short walk to the Carriage house.

By beverage station do you mean Pool Bar? :yay:

Thinking of requesting this building for our trip in June. We were in the Paddock our first trip and the Springs the last time. Looking to try something different this trip but we do enjoy the "On the Rocks" pool bar at the main pool.

Another vote for Grandstand.

Although really, I think we need to stop reccommending it to everyone! How are we going to keep getting it if everyone asks for it? :lmao:

Last fall, we did a split stay between a studio in the Grandstand and a 1 BR in the Springs. Even though we loved the 1 BR, we loved Grandstand better! It was much quieter, but also within a short walking distance of the Carriage House, Community Hall, and the main pool. We didn't use the Grandstand pool though, so I can't comment on that. The big plus for Grandstand is it's the first bus stop, so at the end of a long day when you have tired kids, you'll feel blessed. Good luck with your decision, and have fun!

There have been many of these SSR threads lately. Everyone needs to be prepared to not to get what they requested. It is a false expectation to think that just because you request a certain area, you will be placed in that area. I understand many have special needs, but having a toddler or a stroller age child is not a disability:goodvibes

Just thought I would insert this because it seems people are being very specific in their requests and that can set one up for a major letdown at check in.

Grandstand... but there is no guarantee you will get what you request. So don't be disappointed, but hey you'd be on vacation at Disney. Does it get any better?

Yep, it never hurts to ask (ok, maybe once in a while) but a request is a request - and Grandstand is a very popular request, they get far more requests for Grandstand than rooms available in that part of the resort.
