SSR on Christmas Day

Was anyone at SSR last Christmas Day? I have a 7 year old son and he is wondering if there are any special activities for kids. We won't be visiting the parks so hoping something is going on.

I was there in 2005 and yes, there were some things for kids. I remember there were cookies and hot cider. I want to say that there was time to see Santa maybe. I can look for the info sheet we got in 2005 if someone else can't give you any info.

We were there in 2004 and each resort at Disney had special activities plus a visit from Santa on Christmas Eve. Also, Downtown Disney also had times when Santa was there.

There should be some special activities at SSR at the community hall on Christmas Eve/Day. It is a wonderful time of year to go. My 11 year old has asked when our next Christmas trip will be and it was freezing in 2004 when we went, but she remembers how beautiful WDW was then and wants to go back again even if we do have to suffer from in the cold.

Okay, I did check my info from Christmas 2005 and it was pretty vague. On Christmas Eve evening Goofy and Donald Duck were scheduled to be at the resort and on Christmas Day it was Dickens Minnie and Mickey (7pm). I also noticed that many of the craft activities throughout the week were winter/holiday themed.

Also, if they are having a Members Merry Mixer...not sure if they are this year, but if so, and you are able to make it...GO! It was so much fun! They had cookies, hot cider, hot chocolate, cold cider, character meet & greets, craft activities and real "reindeer games" lead by the reindeer for the kids as well as a DJ. Each family received a pewter ornament.

Thank you. 16 days to go until our trip and cant wait. Really looking forward to when we arrive at SSR on 19th as we will be able to relax a little more as will have done the parks by then. Nice to know there willbe plenty to keep my 7 year old DS busy. Saying that, I probably won't get him out of the pool until we leave on 27th, no matter what the weather!
