SSR now more expensive than OKW

Was nosing around the uk site, actually checking how much to upgrade to 1 bedroom (too much). Anyway - noticed that Saratoga Springs now costs a few hundred pounds more than Old Key West for our dates. When I booked they were identical. Interesting - more people must be choosing SSR.

That's probably due to the 47% discount offer on for OKW right now.

I thought the same about CBR, it's always the most expensive of the moderates whenever I've looked. I suppose it's been recently renovated but then again so has CSR!

As for SSR being more expensive than OKW, it doesn't really surprise me as SSR is newer and I suppose more people will see that as a plus point.

We stayed at CBR just before the new pool opened & it was the cheapest of the mods. Then when the rooms were renovated it went up to the most expensive. We went to SSR last year & are going this.

I think the renovations at CBR were more extensive than at CSR, what with the new pirate theming.

It's clear that the special promotions are being used to fill vacant rooms so it's not surprising that price fluctuations are starting to come in to try and ensure a more even split of reservations between SSR and OKW. Since SSR has the better location and (IMO considerably) higher quality rooms, I guess they're trying to persuade people to choose OKW instead.

It may be that OKW is going through a major refurb this year and there could be quite a bit of disturbance so people don't want to stay. I am there at the moment having stayed at BLT and Kidani before coming here. The room sizes in the 1 beds are just wonderful. It does need the refurb but it isn't as bad as many people make out and I would pick it every time over SSR.

We are trying OKW for first time in August, 1 bed, any reccomendation on good buildings/rooms?

Just checked our dates in August, SSR looks more expensive on 1st look but when I go into it thats because no studio available for SSR so the price is for a 1 bed villa, which is exactly same as 1 bed villa at OKW.
Are you getting more expensive like for like?

Me too I couldn't find any difference for a couple of dates, except for the studio not being available on one of them

Lol. That will be it!!! Didn't look at the room types .... Does that mean studios at ssr are sold out or that the discounted rooms are all gone?

Whilst we are not staying at either we have been monitoring Disney resort prices as we are planning a few nights 'somewhere' this August, if we were to consider either SSR or OKW, they are both £405 for the 3 nights - exactly what they have been for a fair while now, both the same price for a 1 bedroomed villa.
