SSR: Instacart etc. delivery to room?

My first stay at SSR is upcoming. If I plan to meet delivery people in person, can I tell them to come directly to the room or must I meet them around the Carriage House/main lobby?

They never come directly to the room. They can drop off with bell services and then bell services can deliver to your room for $6 for groceries and non perishables such as water cases.

If its prepared food then you have to pick it up in the lobby and meet the delivery person, Disney wont touch it.

On my last stay at SSR in November 2024, I used Instacart and gave them the room number in the delivery address, and they came to the building and room to deliver. I feel like at SSR, and probably OKW too, since there are the detached buildings, they can deliver to rooms or at least meet downstairs at the building, whereas other properties, where the rooms are connected to the main building, they have to drop off at the lobby/bell services.

By "prepared food" do you mean sandwiches, subs, etc.? We never met the delivery person but maybe it was because we didn't have any prepared foods.

Thanks for the responses. I was sort of thinking that once the driver is past the front gate, they really have no way to monitor where the driver goes (and I don’t see any harm in the driver going to a particular building as opposed to the lobby). Also may not be consistent.

Re “prepared food,” previously I understood Disney would not allow Door Dash, etc., to deliver on property because that competes with Disney food outlets. Sounds like that might have changed?

I'd say it's all dependent on the driver....I have requested they meet me at my building and they have sometimes and other times they go to bell services even though i request they go to my building.

We've had them deliver both to the room and out front of the building at both OKW and SSR. Dominos even delivered directly to the room at both. I think it might depend on the driver being familiar with the resort.

Back to the prepared food-I think I'm confused again. On our last trip, we almost ordered a plate of sandwiches in our grocery order-you know, the plate of little "finger sandwiches" that you usually get from the deli. Does that count as "prepared food" (which it kinda is) or just part of our grocery order so bell services would be OK? If it's part of "prepared food", that would have been a problem, since we set up delivery for a couple of hours before we got there.

You should be fine, we order premade sandwiches from Walmart all the time. Grocery orders are fine.

I havent done this yet but I would second that I think it would be fine because its from a grocery store. I would be at the hotel room jic I had to go to lobby
