SSR if you stayed there

Ok, we were only there 1 night, in December. We didn't have a room facing DTD, but the quiet pool was wonderful, warm and relaxing to use and the view of DTD from it was beautiful. We had a DVC Christmas tree, we invited the family to visit us in the studio, we put together a buffet, and then we all walked over to DTD to enjoy the Christmas music, decorations and Ghar. ice cream. It was a very special night for all of us, and so, I (we) loved our SSR stay, and the furnishings suited our taste just right.

SSR is our home resort; we stayed there last July 16th - 23rd and will be staying there this July 15th - 22nd. My DD loves it as does my wife. I love the layout of the place and the proxcimity to DtD. My only complaint is the onsite restaurant.

Haven't stayed there yet, will be there in just over 3 weeks for the first time. I did walk around the lobby area last December, just to see, and I was impressed, very beautiful hotel, so I'm excited to try it.

SSR is our home resort and we love it!

We loved it. The view of DTD, especially at night, is top notch. Dining options are limited at the resort but DTD has lots of choices and it's just a few minutes away.

BTW...we own at BCV.

We had a two bedroom last August. We absolutley enjoyed it.

I have now stayed at SSR, Old Key West, and twice at Beach Club. Every trip has been wonderful.

We were also fortunate to be at SSR a week before the first hurricane hit.

So, for the poll I voted "loved it."

We stayed in a 2 BR last year the FIRST week SSR was open.

I enjoyed the room layout, view of DTD & obviously that it was brand new.

I wish it was easier to get around & that there was a "sit down" restaurant. SSR will obviously have the amount of people to sustain it. Hopefully it will appear

"if you build it, they will come........................."

And some footbridges over canals & ponds would cut down on walking time to the main buildings.

I give it an 8/10.

We love SSR! We were in a 1BR with a fantastic view of DTD. The room was everything we hoped it would be. The landscaping is very nice and we enjoyed the pools. We don't generally eat at a sit down restaurant at the resort, so the lack of one doesn't bother us. We did not care for the "food court" as the service was very poor. Our 3 year old son still calls SSR "our hotel" and frequently asks when are we going back! Good thing we have 49 years left!

WE STAYED THERE IN OCTOBER IN A STUDIO. WE LOVED THE ROOM AND VIEW. THE REST OF THE PLACE WE LIKED. WILL BE STAYING THERE AGAIN IN AUGUST AND NOVEMBER.

We stayed there last May when it first opened and really thought it was great. It was our first visit as DVC members, great first impression. We plan on trying all of them at some point - but my wife is running the 1/2 marathon in January and I booked SSR for her.

I asked this week if she wanted me to try a different resort at the 7 month window - and she said why? So that should tell you how much she liked it!

My family stayed there last Thanksgiving and loved it. Staying again this November.

I decided not to vote, because my feeling about our stay there is not an answer that is offered. We didn't dislike it, but we didn't love it either. I WOULD stay there again, but I probably wouldn't specifically intend to stay there unless I couldn't get into OKW.

I just came back yesterday and LOVED IT!
Will be going back in Nov. As a matter of fact, I called my best friends from SSR Sunday night, and told her I will not be calling at the 7 month window to change ressies for our trip. I want her to see my ''home'' and see if she loves it too. She's is planning on loving it too, as it has it's own spa and close to DTD.
