Next January we will be treating my cousin and her family to stay with us at a DVC resort. We own at BWV and SSR. One the one hand, I think that this might be the only time we have reason to use the GV at SSR. BW GV is too many points. On the other hand, this is their first, and perhaps only, trip to Disney. Her DH has never even been there and she hasn't been there since EPCOT opened.

My question: Would the relaxing nature of SSR and the ability for the adults to golf easily (my mom and dad will also be down there with us) outweigh the "Disney-er" feeling of WL? I know the GV are cool, but will SSR give the same "we're staying at Disney" feeling as WL? We are just buying there under the new promo and I am worried it will feel more like staying at one of the hotels outside of DD than WL would. Since her kids will be 4 & 6, MK will be our park most of the time.

I love how BW makes me feel so isolated from the outside world because I can just walk into EPCOT.

Those of you who have done both, what do you think? We love SSR, and certainly the GV would be really nice, but in this case is it the right resort for us? This will be Jan 08, so xmas decorations won't be figuring it to this.

I've never done a GV, (but did take the tour of a GV at SSR) and I love the VWL more than anyplace else. However, if these are good friends/relatives, the sort that I'd like to be together with in the evenings, and the kids would perhaps be asleep, I would book a GV at SSR rather than a 2 bedroom & studio at VWL.

In January the parks close on the early side, so DTD could be a draw.

We had a 2 bedroom and 2 studios at VWL this August, and the studios were close together, but the 2 bedroom was on a different floor, so we were spread out. What I really missed was a real dining room table. You could get a great dining room table at OKW in a 2 bedroom, but then you have to "worry" about the placement of the studio.

So, for ease of being together with the group, I would go with the GV.

Whatever you pick, you can't go wrong!!!

I am struggling with a OKW GV vs. a SSR 2br + studio and the points difference. Best situation would be SSR GV - but I hate to deplete my points. I really, really want us all to be together in a GV and the most economical is OKW, but I really love SSR. I think it will come down to us all being together. That's what really gives us the "disney" feeling.

You will love an OKW GV - they are so big and the being together can be so important. I have toured the SSR GV and while nice I will take the OKW one any day unless someone in the group needs the elevator access to the second floor.

I guess I'm not worried about the space. We've done a two-bedroom before and we can make it work, especially with my parents in a studio too. I am thinking more along the lines of Disney-ish. What would your choice be then?
