We are headed to SSR in 27 days! This will be our first trip home, and also our 2 years olds first trip to DW.

Is there anything I need to know about SSR? Is the air conditioning still an issue? The pool warm? I will take any advice your willing to give.

Thanks!

Kristine

Welcome home neighbor! We're new SSR owners as well. Our first trip will start december 2nd. Our grown kids will be coming along with our DGS who will be 23 months at the time. This will be his second trip to WDW but the first trip he will be aware of. He was only 9 months first time around. We're so excited. Keep reading these boards and you should find alot of information about SSR. Have a great trip and be sure to report back.

You will love SSR. We will be there around the same time as you. In December our air con got a little cold during the early hours, but we find that at most of the resorts (we don't have air con in the UK!) Someone put a useful post on this board about air con if you do a search.

The pool was as warm as a bath in December.

Thanks for the replies! I am exicted and scared all at the same time. I am hoping the plane ride goes well! Thanks for the info about the resort. We are going with my sister and her family and I cannot wait for her to see the little piece of Disney that we have. :thumbsup2

We were there is May in Springs section. The A/C worked well (I like it cold) and the pool was warm. Did you request any section? Also be sure to stop by the Community Hall there are alot of fun activities. Here is what was going on in May:

You can also make reservations for a carriage ride. It's $35.

Also if you are on the dining plan. Artist Pallette has a huge selection to use your snack options.

Enjoy!

We went a year ago and one of the studios had a problem with the air conditioning. When the guy came to fix it he told us they are set on motion sensors. If the sensor picks up movement it runs for 20 or 30 minutes or until it detects more motion. We found it slightly hot in the early hours of the morning. I guess we don't move much when we sleep. We had the same thing in a 2BR at OKW a couple weeks ago.

We requested to stay in the springs area but you never know were you will end up. I am not to picky really. It just would be nice to be close to the pool with a toddler but, that is what they make strollers for! :thumbsup2

With the carraige ride, can you order champagne or anything like that with it? DH and I are celebrating our anniversary down there and I think that would be fun to do before dinner.
