SSR experts...Going for a long weekend with Mom for F & W...where to request? Want best bus transportation I guess and pool...pool bar too?

haha...asking a lot! All of SSR has the same bus service, with five stops. Grandstand is the first stop for both pickup and drop off, so that might qualify as the "best".

As for the best pool, most will say the themed pools are the best.

The main pool in the Springs section has the CS area, Turf Club etc at it.

They are now building a second themed pool in the Paddocks section that is suppoed to have a CS portion to it. I presume they will have a bar there too, but I haven't seen anything official on that.

Grandstand is an upgraded quiet pool with a water play area for kids. It does have a bar, but its hours were really hit or miss while we were there.

I would say the best place for adults would be Congress Park, it only has a quiet pool. But you could possibly get views of DTD and it would be a very easy walk over to the Marketplace.

The closest to the main pool and bar is Springs. However, Springs is the last of the 5 bus stops and it is often crowded or standing room only by the time it stops there. We did not enjoy staying in this section because we found it noisy. We were close to the bus stop and sitting on our balcony was too noisy for us to really enjoy it.

Paddock is the 3rd bus stop and there will be a feature pool there but it's not going to be open in time for your visit this year. Paddock has always been my favorite section because it's quiet but I'm sure that the new themed pool will change that.

Congress Park is the 4th bus stop and has the views of DTD. It's about a 7 minute walk from Congress Park or Paddock to the Springs Pool and main building.

Grandstand is the first bus stop and a 5 minute walk to the main pool. Many people with young children request this section due to the kiddie play area.

Carousel is the 2nd stop. This is the ony section I have not stayed in so I can't comment on it.

I can easily walk from any section to the main pool/bar/store, etc. The resort looks so spread out but they have great walking paths and I don't find a 10 minute walk to be so bad.

If they are going to Food and Wine, Paddocks will be open. Supposed to be open in June/July....

When I called MS yesterday I was told Paddock's pool will open July 3rd. Since we check into SSR on July 6th I hope MS was right ;)
