SSR--drive or bus to MK--help!!!

OK people, I need to make up my mind on this before tomorrow morning. MK opens at 7AM. We have a car, but have never driven to MK and I know that we have to park at TTC and get the monorail or ferry.
We are in Congress Park, the 4th bus stop. If we get out there by 6 (and trust me, we can do it--the kids fear me on MK day because they know it's my favorite, and I've promised them a day to sleep in on Thursday) will there be room on the first bus out? Or should we just leave at 6 in the car and drive ourselves? Bottom line--I want to be there at rope drop. They actually CLOSED MK today to everyone at one point--even resort guests. If it's that crazy crowded tomorrow, I want to get fantasyland done early and have our FPs for space mt. in hand when we are finished.

In view of what you say about being able to get out early, I would take the car. That way you are not at the mercy of others in the resort and the bus. In order to work, I do think you have to be in the car by 6. I have to tell you that I've never done this, but that seems like the best idea to me.

if it opens at 7 am - then the buses will start at 6 am.

there won't be that many people on the bus at 6 am. just remember to get out there.

sorry about today - heard it on theme parks. sounds like some people were upset.

looks like disney changed the schedule and every day for WDW resorts guest it opens at 7 am

We're right here at Congress Park with you and went to MK yesterday morning. It took 35 minutes between waiting for the bus and the drive there. If you are out at the bus stop by 6 you should be fine. We thought about driving instead, but then you have to start with parking and then taking the monorail or ferry. We were very glad we did not drive when it was time to come back last night though which is also something to consider. At 9:40pm there was an hour and a half wait for the monorail to get back to the transportation center. Our wait for the bus - 17 minutes. Bundle up. It's only supposed to be around 40 degrees in the morning.

That's perfect; the kind of expert advice I need. I know last year we were at YC and we got out to the bus stop about 6:10 and made it in plenty of time (also opening at 7). Since we are the 4th stop I figure we have maybe 5 minutes of leeway with the other 3 stops.
I love coasters, which building are you in? Did you get a nice view? We are in 1810. DH is taking the kids over to downtown disney now. I'm going to go to bed and get ready for tomorrow. I love MK, and then we are going to leave about 3 and go to the members thing at the boardwalk, and then go back to MK for spectro. Thursday we are sleeping in.
