I want to call tomorrow to make my first DVC reservation :woohoo: I have the 160 developer points that I can use at SSR and I am going to try and get a studio in mid December. ( The remainder I am hoping to use to book Disneyland next year).
Are there studios in each area? Are you able to request an area when you call and make your reservation? I know when making resort reservations with WDW you can make a request which of course is just that a request.
But I am not sure of the DVC "rules" when it comes to making a reservation.

Yes, you can make a request at SSR like any other resort. You could request a specific room, but the chances it will be available at the beginning of your stay is very slim. There are studios in every building (most units are 2br lockoffs which = studio + 1BR)
I think more sucessful requests are more general, such as near the main pool, or one of the 5 locations, the more specific, the less chances you have...

Thank you for your quick reply. I do not want to request a certain room # I thought perhaps I would request either the Paddock section or the Carousel section.

Then you should have a great shot at getting it! (Seems a lot of requests are for the other areas because of proximity over peace.)
Just decide if you want to be near the Paddock quiet pool or playground, or either bus stop (seems negative requests "not near the playground" often get intrepreted as "owner must be 2 feet away from the playground")

...studio, ...mid-December - not likely (but you never know.) It's well chronicled on these boards that December is perhaps the most popular time for DVC stays.
