SSR & BLT in August?

Hi - I'm new to DVC and we just bought BLT. We have developer points and I was wondering how likely it was that I could get a 2 bedroom reservation at SSR and a one bedroom MK view at BLT for the end of August (I probably can't call until late tomorrow or Monday). There are 5 us going (myself, DH DD, DS and my Mom) so we need the space. We will take non-MK view if needed but is SSR likely to be sold out by then? Also, is it harder to book with the developer points? Anything I should ask for at SSR?

I don't have answers to your questions, but just thought that I'd add that we are taking our first DVC trip since joining, and we'll be taking it to SSR and Boardwalk (split trip) in August. We should wear some special disboards.com shirt to signal that we are dopey enough to spend our free time on this message board, lol.

I just added on at BLT today (100 pts) so got matching developer points at SSR. Before I purchased, I wanted to be sure there would be availabity at SSR in August when I am planning to go.

The guide called MS and they told him they had lots of room available during August--now I am not sure if he only checked the studio that I need or all but it sounded like that part of your reservation won't be a problem.

Sandisw - Thanks for the information - I really appreciate it! I am glad to know that I should be able to get SSR - I was worried because the resort has been open for August bookings for a while now.

I was able to book BCV for the last week of Aug. two weeks ago and just changed the last half of the reservation to Boardwalk yesterday. Having gone in late Aug. for the past three years, it is ...warm and most of the southern schools have already started so maybe the last week of August isn't as booked as earlier in the month. Have a good trip

The last two weeks of August are a great time to visit Disney if you can stand the heat. With the exception of the northeast, the rest of the country is already back in school and so the parks are empty and room availability should be great. I don't think you'll have any trouble getting exactly what you want. Have a great trip.

I just called MS yesterday to tweak our 2 bedroom ressie at SSR (With DP's) for the end of August and the CM said that they still had a lot of availability.

The THV are the same points as a 2 bedroom at SSR
and the THV Aare part of SSR

Thanks for all the help. I would have tried to get THV but my Mom was not interested!!! She has no desire to be in a tree. LOL! I am really looking forward to going home for the first time.
