SSMC2006 cruise friends

Did somebody say it was spring?

It's snowing like crazy outside. Yesterday it was beautiful, we even played outside in the afternoon. Now this. :sad2: :headache: :sad2: Absolutely crazy! No wonder so many people here at sick!

We would have been heading to WDW tomorrow if Gary hadn't lost his job. Instead friends of ours are going and staying on our points. I hope they enjoy AKL & concierge to boot, I just wish we were going at the same time. They recently bought into DVC, so with any luck, maybe we'll take a trip together one of these years - after all, they are now the ones with an abundant number of points. But, seeing the snow now, I so wish we were out of here next week.

I know, I know, Diana & Amy, it's probably a cold front down in FL too. What.....about 78? :rolleyes1

The cold front did come in and actually it's freezing here :lmao: ---55, I thought about putting on the heat for a few minutes to take the chill out, but I know the AC will be on this afternoon, it is supposed to go up to 82.

We're heading down to the beach today. We participate in this Children's Environmentalism Program the county does. Each week we go to a different nature preserve and learn something about the enviroment. This week we're going to the Salt Marsh to learn about what sort of creatures :scared: live there and we'll be planting some sea grass. It's a really fun program and the girls and I both seem to learn a lot each month.

Tomorrow is the big egg hunt at Church. Pony rides, Petting Zoo, Bouncy Bounces, they go all out!! I'm not knocking my 30+ years of Catholicism, but the Catholic Church NEVER does fun and cool stuff like this one does!

What the heck??? :upsidedow

We got 5.5 inches of snow and I just heard on the weather than Kankakee - where Steve & Coleen are -- is 50 degrees. What's up with that???

Steve, is that accurate? Did you get any snow out your way?

Cindy - that's BIZARRE!!! I remember many Easter weekends growing up with snow -I hope it's 50 at your house today :).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF J!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :bday:

Well we had a dusting this morning but its 47 degrees now. The sun is shining nicely though. They just opened two new Walmarts in our area and we spent $200 + today at one of them. Gonna make a killer homemade pizza tonight ! Maybe even have a beer or three.

I hope things warm up in your neighborhood Cindy.

Have a great Easter everyone I am working but Coleen is having the kids all over in the afternoon.

Our big exciting news of the week is I was able to get us tickets to the taping of the Disney Channel Games Concert the first weekend in May at Wide World of Sports. Now it may not be a big deal to most, but for Emma, seeing the Jonas Brothers again in concert along the Cheetah Girls and other "special guests" (please be Miley, please be Miley) is going to be the coolest thing ever. I have to admit, I'd go to this concert over the Wiggles 1000 times over!! I soooooo don't miss the Wiggles. :lmao:

HAPPY EASTER!!!

So colorful & cheery, not to repeat. I hope you don't mind, Amy.

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday or at least their Sunday if you don't celebrate Easter. Our day today, as well as the weekend, was rather relaxed. We had friends come to visit for the weekend, so it was nice to kick back, laugh and share some time together. We thought about doing something special today, but after the late night last night, no one rushed to get up and out this morning and it just didn't happen. They are on the way home now with a several hour drive ahead of them. We get the easy part, relaxing some more! :dance3:

The kids are on spring break this upcoming week. I know they each have something they want to do with Gary so hopefuly they will get out of the house and have some fun on their week off of school. Cameron wants to take a trip to a store in Indiana where they have Civil War clothing he's been eyeing online. Not that he's planning on buying, just to check it out in him mind. No problem, it's only 8 hours round trip.:rolleyes1 That will keep them busy one of the days. Walker is hoping for some extra time on the ice and he's looking forward to a trip to the hockey store, as he's wanting a pair of guards for his hockey skates so that he can put them on at home and walk into skating with them on instead of having to put them on when he gets there. The skate shop has a discount going this week so I know they are going to do a little shopping there. I just hope they only buy the guards, as that hockey stuff is incredibly expensive.

Diana, I'm not familiar with that event at all, but it sounds like Emma is going to enjoy it. Is Julia going as well?

The Disney Channel Games is the modern day version of Battle of the Network Stars--only with all the kids from the Disney Channel shows participating.

And yes, Julia was SO SO upset that she missed out on the Hannah/Miley/Jonas Bros show, I couldn't bare to leave her out again.....that means that Bruce gets to listen to the zillion screaming girls along with me!! :lmao:

Happy Easter to all!!

We had a great day. We went up to the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. It's a great zoo and the girls had an awesome time.

Now we're sitting back watching the Sound of Music---my favorite. I figure if Emma subjects me to the Jonas Brothers 24/7, I can subject her to this. She's like me though, a musical lover and will probably sit here and watch most of the movie with me.

Cindy - sounds like a fabulous weekend all around. I hope spring break is fabulous for your family!

HAPPY Easter from our growing family to yours!

Julie, what a terrific picture. You look great! :thumbsup2

Diana, on Friday nights now, at the public skate Walker is going to, the high school kids are there. I've heard that because they know a lot of people skate over the winter, spring becomes their season to skate. The girls screaming is enough to drive me out of there - what is it with girls and screaming? I guess that's why I have boys and tend to have most boys in my daycare, someone is looking out for me there. ;)

HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY JEFF

We had a nice day yesterday. On Easter we usually get up and rush off to my sisters to be there by noon and then on to John's parents for the evening. Since my youngest sister had to work yesterday we decided to celebrate Easter next Sunday with my family. We didn't have to be to John's parents until 4:30 so it was a rather relaxing day. John, Deanna and I made a really nice breakfast when we got up at 10:30! Since John didn't have any work planned for today and Deanna is off school for the week, we all got to sleep in again today. This could be habit forming!

Julie, love the picture of you, Matt and your growing family!

My nephew and his wife should be having their 1st baby today. I'll be a Great Aunt for the 5th time and this will be Carol's (scrappy910) 3rd grand child.

Happy Easter / Spring break

We are in Destin, Fl and it was pretty darn cool and WINDY today. We are doing shopping and resort activities instead. We of course got our annual sunburn yesterday so the cooler weather was a welcome break.

Even with the cooler weather I keep reminding myself - the only white stuff is sand. Off to eat some great seafood!!!!!!!!!!

Check back in soon.

Happy Easter to all! We had about 20 people over yesterday for dinner, so things were just a little busy!

The girls are on Spring Break this week, so they are enjoying and planning their time off. Tomorrow Tim and I are taking them somewhere(they cant decide what they want to do), and then Wednesday my mom is taking them to the zoo. They have planned for my dad to take them to their favorite chinese restaurant for lunch on Friday, so they have a good week planned. I'm sure by tomorrow they will have something planned for Thursday!

Good Morning all!!!

Happy belated Easter!!!

Sounds like everyone's Easter (or weekend) went well. We went to Jeff's cousins in the afternoon and saw his family.

Jeff says thank you for all the birthday wishes. We have been pretty busy around here. I have been traveling alot lately for my job so some nights I have been reading the thread but to brain dead to reply.

We have been doing alot of painting too. We are currently working on the guest bedroom/craft room. It is Mickey Mouse paints red below the chair rail and Main Street Lights yellow above. I think it's cool. Last night we went out and ordered a daybed with trundle for the room and the furniture store was running a promotion if you spent $1200 you get a cruise for 2, so spend we did. I should be getting an information packet in the mail about that soon. Friends of ours told us about it since they bought a bedroom set for their daughter and her brother and sister-in-law bought themselves a sectional so we will have someone to cruise with (it won't be the same as cruising with you guys) but it will be fun!!!

Julie - you are looking so good, and the "family" picture is cute. The fury guys are very cute ans look so huggable.

Diana - Yea on snagging those tickets. The girls will have a ball!!!

Cindy - I'm glad you and your comany had a relaxing weekend. I so feel for you with Walker playing hockey. Even thought Nick doesn't play my dad still does and has for years so I am very familiar with the costs involved. Thank goodness he is not a goalie.

Amy- I saw the picture in All Ears and thought it was great. I was yealling at Jeff to come and look!!

Spring is here too but with 30 degree temps!! Luckily no snow but other then being able to see the grass now since the snow has melted it really doesn't feel to much like spring.

Well off to take Nick to the ortho!!
