Squirts, Shirts, & Flirts...The Legend Continues (TR started 6-23)

Chapter 14. Here bunny bunny.

I know easter has come and gone, but i am just getting around to this so you will have to bear with me. (is that the right "bear") anywho.

The weekend before easter, we had 2 easter egg hunts in our area, one in a town over, and another a church in our town. He did really good at both of them.

here he is at the second one getting his eggs on the hill.

Then it is time to color eggs at home, we had colored eggs, eggs with the shrink wrap on them and ones that he colored and then put stickers on.

this was the sticker one.

this was an idea candi had to keep his fingers clean and help him dye the eggs without getting the dye everywhere.

waiting patiently for the egg to color.

then the finished product.

it worked out really well using those and we will continue to use them in the future.

then easter weekend it was time to head to grandma and grandpas house, on saturday the fire dept had a egg hunt, outside at the park..parker ready to go for hunt number 3 with his lightning mcqueen basket.

that night we had his 4th egg hunt at grandmas house, funny thing was we all thought the eggs were found and we sat down to help parker open them, up well he went back out and looked some more, turns out we missed a few that he found and we had no idea they were there. that little man has eyes like a hawk.

Easter morning in his new suit that grandma bought him.

we had lunch at candis parents then headed back to my parents town. where we went to my grandmas house, saw the family then helped clean up a few trees we knocked down that were dead. and then on to my parents house for a hunt, which would make number 5 of the easter season.

he got a good score there of money and toys

then finally it was time to head to our house. where the easter bunny had also hidden stuff while we were gone to make 6 egg hunts. he was a pro by now and knew where to find everything.

we had to dump his basket 3 times before he was done.

here is his haul from our house and my parents house that evening. he was loading his piggy bank up.

:thumbsup2:banana::dance3::yay:

Sending my belated Happy Birthday wishes along to Parker also.

You're now entering the Terrible Two's. Actually, we didn't find them that bad, but the Three's are another story. :rotfl2:
thanks glenn,

we always say that there are no terrivle twos, better to speak positive thoughts about it and it wont happen. has worked so far...he really is a good kid, has his times when he does throw a fit, but it never lasts, and he def. learns from it.

my sister ran into the problem of thinking that her son was suppose to act bad, and kinda always gave into him, now he does not listen very well and almost 4, she wont admit it, but i am sure she regrets not disciplining him more younger. she just says it is him being a boy.

we make sure that every time parker goes to play with him and is done playing with him, we tell him that he does not act like him, and you would be suprised at how well he looks and listens to us tell him that...he gets real quite and still and listens with his eyes to us.

:teacher:

your kids seem pretty well behaved, you will have to share with me in June.

Great update!

I loved the gascapades postings over on Glenbos PTR.

Looks like you had a good week.

The mini suit was too cool.

GB, I must be following you from thread to thread....

Dan, great, great pictures of the many, many Easter Egg Hunts. Parker took in quite a bit of goodies:thumbsup2

Parker is still a cutie! I can't believe he is two! It feels like just yesterday you had the baby pool going, how the time flies!

Looks like Parker got the hang of the hunt.

We would always find eggs afer the fact. Good thing they never had anything that would spoil in them
The first year we lost some I started at least keeping count of how many, one year I tried making a map so I could find them all again :lmao:

Oh my, 5 egg hunts! I never went on such a thing when I was a kid. Guess it's not typical for Chinese people. My Chinese church didn't do anything like this either

haha, yeah it was a good exchange at the dinner table.

the good thing is the suit was actually a few sizes big it was teh smallest they had, so we had to roll up the sleeves and pants, so it should fit him all fall as well.

yep he is pretty smart about picking this up quickly...it is sad how some parents were picking up all the eggs for there kids who were capable of doing it, they just wanted tehre kid to get a bunch. there actually some who were scooping them up in there baskets.

my mom does that, but her rules are always so complecated, like each kid has a differen color of egg to pick up, but they are not all the same, egg color, like one kid might have the multi color pink and green egg, and the purple ones, then another gets the purpler/green combo eggs, and the all pink ones. very confusing, last year she made my dad a chart to say what each grandkid got.

they are fun, we used to hide the hard boiled ones, but that could get messy so now it is just the plastic ones filled with stuff.

that was weird i multi quoted everyone but for some reason it left you two out...so you get your own post.

Adorable Easter pictures! Quite the haul Parker got on those eggs! :thumbsup2
yes he did, he loves using the little fire guys to play with in his trucks.

or course teh candy and money was his favorite, he saved his easter money and put it with some birthday money to get some good stuff at toys r us.

Parker is still a cutie! I can't believe he is two! It feels like just yesterday you had the baby pool going, how the time flies!
i know we were talking about that as well the other day, it went fast but we have done so much stuff in these two years that it seems like forever ago as well.

Happy birthday Parker! Can't wait to hear about his big day!

The Easter egg hunts that you did look like fun. I can tell he enjoyed them! It rained for the one we went to in Knox...the stuffed animals that they left out for the little kids turned into big sponges really quickly! :crazy2: Glad you had better weather! I like the McQueen basket, too!

Parker is such a cutie! :goodvibesHe had quite the Easter! It sounds like you guys had a great holiday. I love the idea of putting the eggs inside the beater. I will have to remember that one. I can't believe how close the trip is getting!!

Parker's quite the little man in his new duds! And no wonder he's got a good eye for Easter eggs -- he had enough practice...5 hunts!

Yes, we saw that too...examples of how we didn't want to parent. You have to decide who's running the household -- the children or the parents. The young-uns will test you on this! Don't settle for partial obedience. Be careful not to back yourself into a corner with threats you don't intend to carry through. And when you do, and you find yourself in a stand-off with the child, go to your spouse and say, "you've gotta get me out of this one!" We each have had to do that on occasion, and when it happens, it makes me feel for single parents. I don't know how they do it at times like that.

Parker is so precious! They grow up so quickly-I am glad that you are enjoying every minute with him. Work will always be there, but your baby boy will not be 2 very long. Mine are 15, 17, and 19 now and I keep thinking back to when they were little. Every age has its rewards and special memories, but, "they are only young once" is so true.
Thank you for sharing your family's special moments with us.

That was really stated well, Glenn!! Every word is so true!!

I would add one more.... not only is partial obedience bad, but we say, "Delayed obedience, is disobedience."

aw...I can't believe he is 2 already

Happy Belated Bday Parker :wizard:

Looks like he made out great on Easter :thumbsup2

He looks so cute in his suit :goodvibes

Happy Birthday!

Wow. Where did the time go! 2 years old. Gosh, I remember Candi's baby bump pics just like they were yesterday! :confused3

Thanks for sharing the great Easter pics! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Parker! :yay: Can't wait to see his birthday celebration!

Isn't it amazing how 6 months can make SUCH a difference at their ages? It amazes me. Landon failed at his easter egg hunt. We only did one, and it just so happened to be scheduled during his nap time. He was doing fine at first. But then they started late and by the time they actually started, Landon was throwing a tantrum. (Tiredness mixed with the frustration of seeing all the colorful eggs and not being able to go get them yet.) He got about 7 eggs and often was more interested in throwing them than anything. Next year should be better! I love Parker's Lightning McQueen basket! I can't believe the cool stuff they have these days! They had the coolest eggs at Landon's hunt...dinosaur ones, bug ones, etc. All I ever got was the plain colored plastic ones!

you know since his birthday was just here, that means your little man is getting older and his 2nd birthday will be here before you know it.

:thumbsup2

:scared1: Don't remind me!! I can barely believe that next month he will officially be one and a half!! My little man!!

I would add one more.... not only is partial obedience bad, but we say, "Delayed obedience, is disobedience."

I really like that one!!
