Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

I agree with keeping the name to yourself until your princess is here. Everyone will have an opinion and if you and Candi really like the name you shouldn't let others opinions and stories pursuade you. My daughters name is Meadow Rose. Most people liked it but those who didn't....Oh boy!:rolleyes1 I actually had an older woman look me straight in the eyes and say" You do know she will have to live with that name for the rest of her life?":headache: Duh!!!!

We got so tired of people asking what we were going to name our son (we acknowledged that we had a name picked out), that I finally said to my wife "I'm going to randomly pick a name out of a baby book, and that's what we'll tell everyone until he's born." I opened the book, and put my finger down on the left page on "Purvis" and then on the right page on "Quigley". And that's what we told everyone, including the soon-to-be-new-grandparents, who were not 100% sure we weren't joking. :scared: I think everyone was a little relieved when "James" was born! His sisters still like to tell him that he was almost named "Purvis Quigley".

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

We learned our lesson when we said our boy name was Roman Oliver ( we liked Roman and Oliver is a family name). Someone told DH and I it sounded like a salad dressing :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Yup sure did. Thank God #2 was a girl.:thumbsup2

A big congratulations on the baby girl! :cheer2:
I'm unfortunately still a bit of a lurker who occasionally pops up to say hello. I have such good intentions of getting more involved but can't seem to find the time.
And good going on picking a name so early. When my DD was born we called her Baby Watts (our surname) for the 1st few weeks of her life. DH and l just could not agree on a name we both liked!

Hey Dan! Mucho congrats on the news that it is a girl :thumbsup2 My older daughter (soon to turn *shudder* 15) was born on August 28th! Both my kids were born in the summer and the one piece of advice I can give you is keep Candi and happy and comfy as possible - being that pregnant in the heat is no fun.

I hope Parker gets over his fear of the doctor's office. My younger daughter had the same problem until she was 3. Oddly enough it was going in for brain surgery that got her past it - go figure.

Looking forward to more TR and more baby news! :)

YAY!!!!!!! Congrats on a girl Candi and Dan!!! I am so excited for you guys!!

Hi Dan!

I just found your TR this week and I'm all caught up, you have a beautiful family. Reading about your experience with the ultra sound tech reminded me of when we went in for ours last March. The policy was that my husband had to wait in the waiting area for the first part and then they'd let him come back. Seemed a little 1950's to me but it was our first baby so I didn't know what to expect. The tech was very quiet and when she did speak it was in a thick accent that I could barely understand. She kept telling me that I was making her nervous because I wasn't talking and again, being a first time mom, I didn't realize that I was supposed to bring the conversation to this party. :confused3 She took a bunch of pictures and it seemed to go forever before her supervisor came in and looked at all the pictures she'd taken and realized that she'd measured everything wrong and he had to do it all over again. It was then that she explained that this was her first time doing this and that I was "the first human she'd practiced on." :scared1:
first off :welcome: and kudos on catching up to us....

that seems so weird that they said he would have to stay outside the room for the first part. i wonder what the reasoning was.

that is very funny that you were the first human, i would have cracked a joke for sure...

After what seemed like forever they went to get my husband and from the look on his face when he came in the room I could tell that he'd been sitting out there worried. I wanted to say "congratulations, we're having a human" to break the silence but didn't think it was a great idea.
that would have been great if you said that, even if the tech didnt laugh.
:rotfl:

The whole thing went on for what seemed like for-ev-er while he took all the pictures again and and she watched and finally he exclaimed in a different thick accent "I think I see a teste!" I couldn't help it, we both started to laugh and then I started to cry. We were relieved that the whole thing was over and we could leave.

Of course at my next appt with my doctor she told me that I'd have to go back because not all the pictures were clear and I started to laugh and told her I'd only go if she could promise a different lab tech. ;) The next visit went much smoother except that the girl kept referring to my baby and his "xy organ" and I felt like I was on candid camera. :rotfl2:

Congratulations to both of you!! Enjoy every moment and start saving up for all the money you'll be spending on meals at Cinderella's castle and BBB!
it is funny what the techs call it, our lady was very offended when we said ohh yeah look there is the v---na she almost yelled at us at what the correct name for what we saw was...and we both just sort of said o-kay:scared:

you would think they would be a little more lightened up but i guess not.

that is when we take the grandparents with for those items.

glad to have you aboard.
:thumbsup2

that is a great idea, i think we might have to steal it, but dont know if purvis quigley will work for a girl name.
:scratchin

sounds like a solid football boy name to me.
:thumbsup2

thanks, feel free to pop in more with comments, only one who bits is marv, and he is not around to much.

well we had this girl name picked out about 3 years ago, it was in contention for what we would name parker if he were a girl, actually i think it was # 2 on our list for a girl name but a cousin of ours picked the #1 name last year for a girl name so we switched this one into the #1 spot.
:thumbsup2

thanks,

i bet there will be alot of talks with the boys when they come over to try and take her on dates.
:flower3:

she knows it will be hot, but says she is looking forward to the summer maternity clothes instead of the winter ones from last time.

she will be spending a lot of time with parker in his kiddie pool

we are hoping he gets over it quick before the baby gets here...we just have to keep working on it with him.
glad yours got over her fear.

is she fully recovered from her surgery, how long ago was it?

Good one Dan !!!!

:lmao:

YAY!!!!!!! Congrats on a girl Candi and Dan!!! I am so excited for you guys!!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: DS was called Otto. Not really to throw others off but just as a joke Otto the little palindrome. :rotfl2:

Occasionally we still call him Otto- but mostly, the boy, as opposed to the girl.

We called my nephew "Angus" in utero. :) Angus is MacGyver's first name on the show. My brother and I loved MacGyver so we thought it was fitting. :)

My boss's son was known as "Haggis" as my boss is half-Scottish. He still calls him Haggis occasionally.

Jill in CO

Well if we are talking about nicknames DD was called Jiggly Puff because DS is a big Pokemon fan and because that's kinda how I felt, like a big jiggly puff.:rotfl2:

Congratulations!! I guessed correctly, woohoo!
thanks and alot of people thought it was a girl before even found out.
:thumbsup2

Chapter 40. We Might be heading home early

Part 1.
When we got back to the trailer that day after BB we went to shower up, well the trailer was starting to feel a little warm. but we showed changed and everyone got ready for there evening.

It was getting hotter in the trailer but the air was still running.
well it turned out that the air was running but one of the parts had frozen up from it running for the last week and ahalf pretty much non stop.
so he turned it off to let it rest and see if that would work.

when we were leaving the trailer my dad had said that if it doesnt work overnight we might be packing up and heading out a day early.

there really wasnt much breeze and without air the camper gets well over 90 on hot days on the inside...needless to say everyone was ina bit of a crummy mood.

while we were waiting for the bus, which is a few hundred feet away we felt a big wind gust and a huge snap type noise...so we went back to look at the camper, well it was the camper next to us.

his awning had flown up over the trailer and snapped the bottom connection clean off....

here is an idea on how hot it was....it had been about 30 minutes since he turned off the air until now. well he went on top of the camper and checked out the air unit and everything had melted that was frozen solid.

he turned the air on, and sure enough it fired right up and started blowing cold air.:woohoo:

so that helped the mood as everyone was pretty grouchy those last 30 minutes because we thought we were leaving a day early.

we hopped on the bus to the boat dock, and caught a boat to the contemporary...we were happy to not be leaving early but no one was in a picture taking mood right then.

when we got to the contemporary we parted ways, my parents heading to the california grill (or top of the world as we call it)

and us heading to the poly.

first though my dad had to sneak into the bay lake towers.
DSC02521.jpg

they went into the elevators this time and i think turned around, the last time they went through the lobby and such
DSC02526.jpg

but they had a destination so to the top of the contemporary it was.

some inside shots.
DSC02529.jpg

DSC02530.jpg

DSC02531.jpg

they had a good seat location as well.
DSC02533.jpg

and i have no idea what they ordered but they said they had a good time and the food was good.
DSC02538.jpg

they did not hang around to long after dinner but they did go out on the balcony and get some pics of the MK.

after that they headed back to the camper cause my dad wanted to make sure the air kept working....they then headed to the pool for a quick dip.

dont go anywhere the part 2 is coming up soon.

Chapter 40. Our Part of the Evening.

Part 2.

When we parted ways at the contemporary we had no idea where my parents went, well, looking at there pics, and mine, it seems like father like son we had the same idea...where did us three end up before hitting hte monorail.

DSC01865.jpg

i only went out on the walkway this time, as we had just a short amount of time before our reservations and candi did not want to be late.
DSC01866.jpg

When we arrived at the poly i had noticed i lost the PP card from BB so i went to the PP desk and the lady quickly found the pics that we had taken that day in the water park and put them on a new card for us.

we were seated quickly at dinner and we had told parker all week thatthis was the meal he could get his glowing buzz drink, man was he happy for it.

DSC01872.jpg

this is one of my favorite pictures of the trip of us three.

DSC01873.jpg

i guess we paid OOP for these pot stickers, as you do not get an appetizer on the DP anymore, and they were very good i remember, the seaweed on the side was even very good.

DSC01875.jpg

candi got the coconut chicken...which she loved.
DSC01876.jpg

and i got the steak which i do not see on the menu anymore.
DSC01877.jpg

i know candi enjoyed her desert, look at that face.
DSC01880.jpg

and this was my first experience with creme brulee and i have to say it was awesome, i loved it, and will be looking for it on menus in the future.

DSC01881.jpg

parker even seems to be eyeing it, check out that face.

after dinner we hit the monorail around to the TTC, and got on the epcot route.
some construction was going on by the TTC on the water side by the woods. (where the old runway is located)
DSC01894.jpg

enjoyed the trip through epcot.
DSC01896.jpg

this trip was one of the first times i had noticed the water shooting the opposite direction

DSC01900.jpg

parker had a blast on the monorail, i think because we didnt have to worry about a kid farting on candi and yelling at her to be quite.

but he kept wanting candi to sing the casey junior train song for him and he would jump up and down laughing the whole time.
DSC01908.jpg

when we got back to the TTC, we saw the tronorail coming into the station.
DSC01911.jpg

this was another first for me, i have not riden the ferry to the MK ever since i was a very little kid.

so i was excited for the ride...and parker had a blast as well, he stood in the front by the gate, and watched the whole ride.
DSC01915.jpg

i love this picture of him watching the boat get closer to the dock.
DSC01925.jpg

after the ride, we headed to the resort boat launch and took the smaller boat back to our camp ground.

we went to the gift shop (outlet post) and picked up a few more gifts with our gift cards for parker for christmas, and on the way back watched some of the horse back wagon rides that were going through the campground.

it was a long day from being outside, so we showed again and hit the sack early...so we could get ready for our last park day and second to last day in disney.

next chapter we do another first that we have never done before.

Glad everything worked out with the a/c!

You all look so happy in your photos from that night, they all turned out great. :thumbsup2

I would be happy to that the AC worked! My DH and I like to take rides on the transportation as well! I can ride the monorail all day long. It is also fun to people watch!

I like your Dad's shirt in this update. He's stylin'. :cool2:

I can see why you like that picture of the 3 of you...it's a great one! :thumbsup2 Parker's face is so cute.

So that restaurant was Kona Cafe, I take it?

Glad that the A/C was okay

I see where you get your sneaky ways now, like father, like son :rotfl2:

Looks like some good food. Did you eat at Kona or was that Ohanas?

You didn't get stopped at all trying to get in BLT?

Love the view pictures, and glad you took the "long" way home again.:lmao:

Kona is yummy isn't it???
