Congratulations on the princess!

When I went in for my ultrasound a couple of years ago, my daughter demanded that she be allowed to go to see her baby brother. WE weren't sure of the sex and the tech was telling us the whole time, "well, we can't see anything so it's probably a girl."

Meredith looked at her like she was from Mars and said, "*NO* that's my baby *brother*" with this absolutely confident tone in her voice. (She was 4 at the time).

Just as we were getting finished up, the tech sat up and said, "I'll be darned. It *is* a boy." To which our DD replied, "I told you that!".

It's wonderful having two, you get to see different perspectives and reactions. Meredith has never been girly so I missed out on the whole "princess" thing, but the good side of that is that she is perfectly happy to play cars with Paul or build castles or play knights with swords.

Since the ultra sound threw Parker for a loop I'm guessing he won't be in the delivery room?

ohh i will be getting a fake shot gun for sure to be cleaning when that age comes around...those boys will be running for the hills...either that or parker has to go on the dates with them.

I remember Brad & I crying when we found out we were having a boy & girl. You get the best of both worlds.
Candi will definitely love shopping for a little girl. There is 100x more things to buy for girls than boys.
Brad gets on to me for buying so many clothes for Lexi! It's ridiculous at what all she has!
The old saying is so true... she is going to have you wrapped around her finger!

she has already told me that, and the good thing is she is pretty frugil with shopping she hates to spend money on it, so we should be pretty good.

she will have the whole family wrapped up as it is the only girl on both sides.

im sure candi will make sure she is somewhat girly but she will be able to hold her own with her brother and boy cousins...and parker being bigger even than his older cousin he can take them down if he needs to.

thanks, well im going to say belle as it is candis favorite princess so im sure she will lean her toward that one at first.



no he will most likely be with my sister during the labor part, but we will make sure that he is the first one to be in the room to see his sister, that is unless it is the middle of the night then prob. not.


but we will just have to see.

good thing everything we bought so far we pretty much got for free...dresses, were originally 20 bucks, on sale for 8, throw in a 3 dollar accessory and use the 10 dollar off coupon and 15% of the remander, about 1 dollar walking out the store.

When my parents dropped parker off, we took him to eat right away as we knew he would be hungry and also if he started to play he would not want to stop to eat in an hour...so we grapped some lunch.

Most people liked it but those who didn't....Oh boy! I actually had an older woman look me straight in the eyes and say" You do know she will have to live with that name for the rest of her life?" that is exactly why, most people will like it, or say they do,but there is always the ones who say, ohh i knew a person with that name and they were a jerk etc....so thats why we wont tell.

Hi Dan!

I just found your TR this week and I'm all caught up, you have a beautiful family. Reading about your experience with the ultra sound tech reminded me of when we went in for ours last March. The policy was that my husband had to wait in the waiting area for the first part and then they'd let him come back. Seemed a little 1950's to me but it was our first baby so I didn't know what to expect. The tech was very quiet and when she did speak it was in a thick accent that I could barely understand. She kept telling me that I was making her nervous because I wasn't talking and again, being a first time mom, I didn't realize that I was supposed to bring the conversation to this party. She took a bunch of pictures and it seemed to go forever before her supervisor came in and looked at all the pictures she'd taken and realized that she'd measured everything wrong and he had to do it all over again. It was then that she explained that this was her first time doing this and that I was "the first human she'd practiced on."

After what seemed like forever they went to get my husband and from the look on his face when he came in the room I could tell that he'd been sitting out there worried. I wanted to say "congratulations, we're having a human" to break the silence but didn't think it was a great idea.

The whole thing went on for what seemed like for-ev-er while he took all the pictures again and and she watched and finally he exclaimed in a different thick accent "I think I see a teste!" I couldn't help it, we both started to laugh and then I started to cry. We were relieved that the whole thing was over and we could leave.

Of course at my next appt with my doctor she told me that I'd have to go back because not all the pictures were clear and I started to laugh and told her I'd only go if she could promise a different lab tech. The next visit went much smoother except that the girl kept referring to my baby and his "xy organ" and I felt like I was on candid camera.

Congratulations to both of you!! Enjoy every moment and start saving up for all the money you'll be spending on meals at Cinderella's castle and BBB!
