Chapter 32. To grandmothers house we go.
Yep your eyes are not decieving you, I am doing an update.
I hope everyone comes back to read.
It has been crazy around here with big projects, busy at home, weekend trips, grandmother getting sick in another state, big snow storm, work called off for a few days.
But as a bonus I will try and do the whole day update together in one chapter, so we can get back to another park day.
This was another off day.
________________________________________________
My grandparents (moms parents) moved to FL about 6 years ago full time. they live 2 hours from disney on the west coast in North Port.
so when we go disney (and have a car) we go and see them.
This was our day.
we woke at 7:00 which was pretty easy even though we had a few drinks the night before and a few more with Mr. Glennbo.
on the way there we pass by the disney electric pole
there are also flat bedding areas every couple hundred feet or so for the osprey birds to nest in.
we hung out at there house and they gave parker some presents.
he loved the construction hat that went with the truck.
lunch was at applebees to celebrate my grandmas 80th birthday which was close to the time we were there.
when we got back to there house we had cake and parker played with all of my grandpas old train items that he has in his office.
he also felt that that truck needed to drive over him some i guesss.
the pics with my grandma didnt turn out as well so i will leave those off.
we knew we had a good drive back so we left after cake.
it was nice to see them again, and they ended up coming up to visit this summer so we saw them for about a month while they were here.
on the way home i zonked out for about an hour, and parker was knocked out for the whole 2 hour trip home.
since we knew that we would be coming home around dinner time we thought that eating at carribean beach would work out since we love there CS food, and could easily stop with the truck on the way back without having to take buses.
i had some pictures before in the TR toward the beginning of the new kid area at FW here is a picture of the new one at CB...it is pretty much the same except the pirate ship on the end has a enclosed twisty slide where the FW one has an open double slid...where that one is pretty cool, i liked ours better for younger kids to go down so they dont get scared in the enclosed slide.
dinner was awesome, i had the turkey dinner...while everyone else had something italian.
we played the gift shop for a bit then headed back to our camper.
when we got back we picked up our packages from our shopping the day before at DTD.
Packing lesson 101 for Mr potato head.
1. if you already have a potato body, dont include one in your box( take yours with you)
2. if you do not have a body - buy one at
walmart or another store for about 4-8 bucks.
3. when packing the box, pick out everything you want and take it to a table.
4. start with some big items first in the bottom, if the big item has a void in it anywhere fit in some small stuff in the voids.
5. get it packed up to the top and see what you have left.
6. play tetris with it, if you hold it up and look in the clear "window" of the box...if it looks like that mickey bar accesory will fit next to the donald lips, take out the pieces and put it back together with that in there.
7. dont get discouraged if it takes 3-4 tries to get everything in there(it took me 6 to get everything i wanted)
8. once you are done, before you close the box, go around the accessory items and pick out the small items and try and squeeze them into any extra air that is in the box...
9. dont forget to throw in an extra pair of ears, hands, eyes etc...those are little items that fit in small areas and you always seem to lose those.
10. it is okay to let one side not close all the way, or if you have to dont worry about the box tearing a little when closing it. see below this is what hte outside of mine looked like.
hope those were some helpful hints.
FYI: if you do need to get a body there, dont forget to pack the inside as full as you can with stuff the medium size items work best with some small things packed in to open areas, and dont forget the flap on the butt comes off for easier packing then you can put it back on at the end, or if something is hanging out a little then you can just put the "butt door" in the box with the other items.
i wish i would have taken more pics of it, but when i was taking this, my mom was giving parker his luggage that they got for him, and i wanted a pic of that.
the night was still pretty early, and we were on vacation so it was time for a swim.
here are some more pics of our kid pool area.
what is that little man up to?
ahh looks like he was getting ready to jump off head first, and go down.
now he has the right idea feet first.
this is one of my favorites, no need to stop for a drink while swimming just open your mouth close your eyes and run through a fountain and get a drink.
after swimming we changed for the chip and dale sing along.
parker enjoyed taking a cookie to chip and dale the night before with grandma and grandpa so he wanted to do it again with us.
looks like they never got the cookie this night.
but they still played with him and signed his book.
and they even let our whole group in for a picture.
there is no booze in those cups on our seats.
this is our new neighbors that pulled in across from us,
after the sing along candi and i ran down to the outpost (by the boat docks) and took some pins with us to pin trade with the CM's
this was the 4th night in a row that candi could not get out of her shower because there was a little baby frog that was blocking her way that scared her.
so once again sorry there was so long in between updates, hope everyone enjoyed this one.
