Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

Yowsah Dan! That's a lot of shoveling...I know. We got about a foot a week ago, and have had ice the last couple of days but not really any more accumulation. It's actually warmed up this afternoon, so we're seeing a lot of melting.

I don't miss the snow that much! Especially lake effect (lived in Kalamazoo for a little bit). We had 14" on Christmas Day and that is the first big snowfall in 20 years. Today were at 70 degrees, but we are going back into the 40's tomorrow.
i was happy when we were not getting it and the east was, now it is our turn i guess...i thought we were done with it, but when it slows down more accumulates over the lake and heads our way.

it sure is, i have to at least get one side of the drive done in case i have to go out and plow tonight. i hope not, as with the drifting they havent even gotten the subdivision clear yet...it is taking everything to just clean the main streets for emergency vehicles.

Wow! All of that snow just amazes me!

i checked the back door and we are now above the latch and lock on that door. :sad2:

Growing up in Maine, I can say I did my time with the snow and I'm so glad I don't have to deal with it anymore! That is a heck of a lot of snow! Crazy about it getting into your garage like that.

Holy Great big Snowdrifts, Batman!

Glad I dont' have to shovel ANY of that!! I hope you can get back to normal life again soon, and that you all stay safe and warm!

WOW

That looks nuts

so strange it got into your garage

Hope it stops soon for ya:goodvibes

Holy smokes that's a lot of snow!

Just looking at the drifts at the houses garage across the street from you...HOLY SMOKES!

Hope you guys are staying warm!

I thought you said that you guys got some snow.......:rolleyes1

I would think that someone with a REAL snow shovel could have made quick work of that little dusting......:confused3

Wow! That is some crazy snow! I can't believe all the huge storms everyone is getting! :scared1: We are having almost a Southern Winter. I was sitting out in the sun in 60 degrees today - we usually have snow and about 20 this time of year. :confused3 Not complaing. Stay warm and safe, Dan!

Sometimes I'm so happy to live in the Southwest. :lmao:

That is a heck of a lot of snow!!

well it finally stopped snowing off the lake about 3:00 today...so it snowed for about 26 hours straight the last day. and we saw our first snow plow on our road since 7:00 last night at 7:00 tonight so not to bad, i guess that means they got the main roads cleared since they can start on ours now.

also means no work tomorrow. they called that at about 5:00 tonight.

so tomorrow i have to get the other half of the drive done, and what the plows pushed back into the end of the drive cleared out.

it is weird, the openings that i could find were only about the size circle of a ball point pen, so it must have been some good wind to push that much in.

i almost sent candi out to do it.;) just kidding she wanted to but i would not let her.

it was very weird, but i got most of it out, it was about 6 shovels full that got in there.

yeah the lady across the street called and asked me what her front drive looked like she said she had to go to work, i said not unless you got a monster truck in there, the drifts are halfway up your garage. she started cleaning it and stopped after 2 feet and went back inside.

I thought you said that you guys got some snow.......:rolleyes1

that is our first big one this year, others have been about 3-8inches so not bad.

i cant wait for that warm weather.:beach:

we are possible coming your way on our hawaii trip, our flights got changed, we might do OR on the way out and WA on the way home.

Sometimes I'm so happy to live in the Southwest. :lmao:

i cant wait till we get ride of it, but dont think we will for a long time, under 0 tomorrow, and then more snow this weekend.
:sad2:

Hi, neighbor. Sorry we sent the snow your way, but we were sick of it. We had around 20 inches at our house (that doesn't count the "drifting snow" which was about 2-1/2 feet on our driveway! :scared1:

It was nice having a snow day today (minus all the shoveling, etc.). Be safe.

Hi, Dan! It took me several sittings, but I caught up! ;) I didn't get to read all the fun stuff in between, but I'm caught up on all the trip info. You guys seem to have had a ball! Glad you enjoyed Chef Mickey's, as I've seen a fair share of TRs where the verdict isn't as good. It's a tradition for us now, and we've always had fun. The Luau looked fun, too. We've been, but not in almost 11 years (pre-kids). And after reading along with you and Glenn, I really want to catch Yeehaw Bob one of these days. They actually wrote about him in the latest Celebrations magazine I got. And congrats on the new little one!!! How is Candy feeling?

Saw your weather pics, too - yuck! We got a ton of ice, but not really any snow. We never lost power, which is what everyone said was going to happen. They're saying some of the people around Terre Haute won't get power back until Saturday! :scared1: We've been out of school since Tuesday, and we aren't going back tomorrow. We'll see if the sun can melt enough tomorrow to get us back on Friday!

LOVED the snow pictures! I was thinking about you guys watching the news reports from NW Indiana and the Chicago area. That is just CRAZY!!

We are dealing with the huge ice storm that passed through. When I look out my window, it is so surreal... EVERYTHING is shiny and smooth, the driveway, grass, trees, rocks, ... and trying to walk on it?!!? Ridiculous!

Hope you guys stay safe and warm!

Wow, that's a lot of snow!

Where l live in the UK we very rarely get snow, and that amount is just crazy! When we do its only a few cms at the most, and that still manages to bring the country to a stand still :rotfl:

Great snow pics! I can't believe the snow in your garage!!! Scary!

We've got quite a bit here too, but not as much lake effect as you guys. Today is so misleading because it's sunny . . . but it's SO cold!

Stay warm and good luck with the shoveling!

Thats a heckuva snowfall Dan! We were supposed to get hit here in St.Louis with 10-20 inches, but we got mostly ice instead. The snow band stayed just a little to the north of us and we only ended up with 3 inches. Still, with all the ice the kids have been home all week and my DH has been working from home. Not looking forward to making up 7 snow days so far!

it is fun sometimes, and others you get tired of it and want it to pass quickly.

about this time of the year, you wish that it was spring already.

Right now we're going...but most of the schools in Indy aren't. We have a 2 hour delay, but from the email my principal sent us, she's not sure we'll actually get there. The kids and I got out today to the store because the main roads are fine, but the neighborhood is still a mess, and we actually got a warning call from our automated system warning employees that we need to take extreme caution in the parking lots, wear "appropriate footwear", and understand that the maintenance people couldn't completely clear the parking lots and walkways. I tried to clear the driveway today...I think I might have gotten about a quarter of the ice chipped away before I gave up (the little guy was getting cold and wanted to go in). It's a good inch and a half to two inches thick out there!!!

I've just posted on your thread one other time, I think. We're in Ft. Wayne. :) We don't get the bad lake effect snows, but we still got plenty. I'm ready for it to melt! :thumbsup2
