Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

So you're saying you remember the one I'm talking about????

Only kidding Dan. More likely to happen in a photo. They always time them as your eyes are closed and it looks like you're asleep while the wife is talking to you, or your mouth is open, or you are turning your head and the picture freezes you forever in that pose where the wife asks "What were you looking at???" :confused3

I HATE when that happens........ :rolleyes1

sounds like i need to teach you a lesson in being smooth my friend.

you forgot to add, the one where YOU are taking a picture and happen to capture something in the background "by accident"
:rotfl:

well to hold you over till i get an update finished, (i hope to have it done today)

i thought i would post a sign from a restraunt/gas statoin that i have passed many times in my years, going from home to college in a small town.

i hope you guys enjoy and even still passing it close to a 100 times, i still laugh when i see it.

I think I'll pass.

Chapter 25. R2D2, flying cars, and a pit stop

we meet back up with my parents just as the parade for the star wars was getting ready to start. we found them in front of the drew carry show. the lines for the parade were huge...we had no idea who was going to be in it, just that there was people everywhere...and we knew that we were getting hungry so we thought we might as well eat now.

like i said there was a ton of people in the area for the parade, and there was an Indy show going on, so that took alot of people, there was noone eating at the backlot express...we walked right up to an open line and ordered our food.

candi and parker shared nuggets, and he had some of my burger, my parents both had wrap/sandwhiches of some sort.

DSC02046.jpg

when we were done eating, the parade was over and so was the indy show, the lines were now out the door and we were glad we chose to eat when we did.

on our way out we were confronted with the stage and looked to the left to see what all the comotion was about, well this little guy came rolling out in front of us.
DSC02047.jpg

i always like to know how things work, and shortly i found this following him around,
it was his controller
DSC01305-1.jpg

he was pretty good to be doing that with the controls behind his back.

in order to let our stomachs settle some we opted to hit up the backlot tour before the next LMA stunt show...the line was pretty far down ramp, but it did not take long, and parker was entertained by the props they had to look at....
he really liked the trucks in the prop wharehouse.
DSC01317.jpg

is it just me, or did the "bone" cage that they used in the pirates film, get a little distorted over the years from sitting there, i always thought it was pretty round in the past.
DSC01318-1.jpg

its too bad this never really took off as the main icon for the park, i always liked it.
DSC02055.jpg

once the ride was over, they were letting people in for LMA stunt show so we made our way in as well, and found seats that were close to a fan, it was getting pretty hot out that afternoon.

DSC01321.jpg

they were good seats, and we were close to the top exit stairs which provided a nice view of disastraph canyon.
DSC02086.jpg

my dad got a pretty good flight shot of the jump
DSC02074.jpg

and here is what barely a second difference looks like in the fire jump at the end.

my dads picture right when it is leaving the ramp.
DSC02084.jpg

and mine when it is a few feet farther along.

when the show was over, we went and sat in the shade of the eating area by hunny i shrunk the kids play yard, and got some frozen drinks with our snack credits at the little trailer cart.

with drinks almost gone it was time to hit voyage of the little mermaid. were getting ready to be let in for the show when parker started hidding behind us while we in line, which means one thing, he is working on something and will need changed shortly...uhh oohhhh the sign says the show will let us in in 4 minutes...so i think quick.

he finishes, i grab him tell the CM what im doing and to let me back in when i come back she agrees. so i take off cut through the gift shop and hit the bathrooms by the animation academy.

pit stop complete i know im pushing the 4 minute to show time that i had when i left...so i cut through the store and get to the CM station well it is a different one there, he says sorry bud you cant go in this show is full, i said yes i can cause so and so CM told me to come back and i can meet my family, luckily the CM from before was standing up front and i said lets go ask her, we did and she let us in, as the doors for the theater were opening up.

show was good as always, and parker did good for it.

when it was over, we went to see if there was a line for any of the characters in animation academy while my parents went to use there Fast pass for RNRC, apparently there was no one out since this isall we got in our picture.

on observations around the park i do have to say that there is alot of people dressed up for the star wars weekends in costums.

but there are some that need to watch what they wear, some of the outfits that the girls were wearing, were showing a good amount that im not even sure they would let you into certain bars wearing these things, its just a little shocking what disney will let some people wear into the parks. just saying we were surpised on some outfits that if we took pictures of them and posted them im sure they would get censored and banned.

There are SOOOOOO many ways I could go with this, so I think I will follow Vanessa's advice. I think I'll pass!!! ;)

Always nice when you time that meal break exactly right, get through the line, and then leave past all the folks who weren't as perceptive!!! :thumbsup2 I'm guessing this was Candi's idea....... :)

Oh thanks a lot! You mean R2D2 isn't the real thing, capable of thinking and moving and making those wonderful sounds all by himself like the one in the movie??? :sad2:

I particularly hate it when stuff at Disney seems to show deterioration when they have it on display like this. I expect it to always be magical and in pristine condition. :confused3
its too bad this never really took off as the main icon for the park, i always liked it.

I'm with you on this one! :goodvibes

This is a really good show, and seats by a fan are perfect on a hot day! Just don't get there too early. Last time we had primo seats like that and then they made us slide to the middle of the section so late arrivals could sit down......
which provided a nice view of disastraph canyon.
DSC02086.jpg
Nice shot. Haven't seen it from that perspective before.

As for the spelling, I think I will leave this one to Glenn. I know you and Rosie think it is more fun to leave them for me to comment on, but sometimes even I don't know where I would start.......
with drinks almost gone it was time to hit voyage of the little mermaid. were getting ready to be let in for the show when parker started hidding behind us while we in line, which means one thing, he is working on something and will need changed shortly...
Isn't it funny how it always seems to work like that???:rotfl2:
uhh oohhhh the sign says the show will let us in in 4 minutes...so i think quick.
No, sorry......too easy! :rolleyes1
luckily the CM from before was standing up front and i said lets go ask her, we did and she let us in, as the doors for the theater were opening up.
Glad you got back in, and Parker got to enjoy the show. :woohoo:
but there are some that need to watch what they wear, some of the outfits that the girls were wearing, were showing a good amount that im not even sure they would let you into certain bars wearing these things, its just a little shocking what disney will let some people wear into the parks. just saying we were surpised on some outfits that if we took pictures of them and posted them im sure they would get censored and banned.
First Blizzard Beach, now Epcot and Star Wars costumes.......... You must have a camera full of background pics after all that!!! Send the pictures to me and I'll edit OUT all the bad stuff for ya before Candi finds them and you get into trouble ....... ;)

:lmao: That sign is hilarious!

We didn't see any scandalous outfits when we were at SWW, you must have had the luck of the draw and got the trampy crowd.

Perfect timing for lunch!:thumbsup2

I want to see R2D2. What a neat meet.

Good call on doing the Backlot tour to settle your food.

The last time we did LMA we got there late and had to walk all the way to the top just to be sent back down to the bottom to sit. My legs were feeling all those steps for the rest of the day. Sounds like you avoided our mistake. You both got some great action shots.

Nice to know Parker likes to do his business while hiding. My oldest use to do the same thing. If was hiding than he was producing a little something.

Nice to know Marv agrees with me!;)

I 'll have to go back and look at my pictures to see if the cage was more like an American football when we were there. :confused3 EIther I didn't notice, or it was rounder than what you saw.

Under 4 minutes deserves the Dad of the Year award. :thumbsup2 It often takes me 4 minutes to find a bathroom in Disney, let alone do a diaper change!!

LMA. I think I'll not show my newly permitted daughter those pictures.

Great update, Dan. I'm telling you that smile of Parker can warm a cold, dreary day. :goodvibes

Hey! Look who updated! We haven't eaten at Backlot yet - should do that next time. Did you like it? Parker probably would have liked to borrow one of those trucks to play with while you waited! We had good seats at LMA near the stairs too and they tried to make us move down behind a pole. Not happening. :sad2: I get there on time and then sit behind a pole so a late comer can have my seat? We just let people climb over us. Not a rule follower this time....

I agree - they need to fix up the cage. All the sticks and ropes are probably getting rained on too much.
I always thought that water tower should be the icon, too. I didn't know they ever tried that. The big blue hat is just from one cartoon - I'm not much in to Wizards, so it's not my favorite.

I thought I saw you once and Candi once in a half second pan on Undercover Boss, but so fast it was hard to tell. You have 3 claims to fame that I know of now!

Nice to know Marv agrees with me!;)
Wow, talk about LOW expectation......
LMA. I think I'll not show my newly permitted daughter those pictures.
Better she learns these things at home. Would you prefer she picks up all her information off the streets from her friends??? :rolleyes1
Great update, Dan. I'm telling you that smile of Parker can warm a cold, dreary day. :goodvibes
Ditto! Parker always steals the show in Dan's updates (at least for everyone outside of Glenn maybe) :rotfl2:

I have really enjoyed getting caught up on your trip! I took a break from trip reports to get some other things done.

The fall montage you shared is wonderful! It's got me in the mood for a long, slow walk amongst the fall foliage. We've got some great walking trails and several waterfalls.

There are SOOOOOO many ways I could go with this, so I think I will follow Vanessa's advice. I think I'll pass!!! ;)
pass gas that is.

Always nice when you time that meal break exactly right, get through the line, and then leave past all the folks who weren't as perceptive!!! :thumbsup2 I'm guessing this was Candi's idea....... :)
ill give her the credit.

Oh thanks a lot! You mean R2D2 isn't the real thing, capable of thinking and moving and making those wonderful sounds all by himself like the one in the movie??? :sad2:
well normally they little kids inside there controlling it, but with child labor laws how they are nowadays, they have to give them every other friday off to rest.
:sad2:

I particularly hate it when stuff at Disney seems to show deterioration when they have it on display like this. I expect it to always be magical and in pristine condition. :confused3
i know especially a movie prop like that, you would think they would want to kind reinforce it and help it stand in the shape it was ment to be.

Nice shot. Haven't seen it from that perspective before.
first time for me as well, glad i took the time to notice it.

Isn't it funny how it always seems to work like that???:rotfl2:

dont worry, they are already printed in trip photobook that she made.
JK
:lmao: That sign is hilarious!

We didn't see any scandalous outfits when we were at SWW, you must have had the luck of the draw and got the trampy crowd.
huh, there wasnt a ton, but there were def. a good handful of them that we saw and caused us to do a double take and make comments to each other.

Perfect timing for lunch!:thumbsup2

I want to see R2D2. What a neat meet.

Good call on doing the Backlot tour to settle your food.
it was cool seeing him, it was a first for us, to bad i didnt get his autograph, i think he was rolling over kids books to give a track print.

those stairs are a pain sometimes, little 2 inch steps, not even a full stair to step up on.

yep parker is a hider while doing his work, he gets embarrased if you look at him.

i hear marv is the same way when he has to go, he runs and hides.

I 'll have to go back and look at my pictures to see if the cage was more like an American football when we were there. :confused3 EIther I didn't notice, or it was rounder than what you saw.
yeah i would be interested to see if it was still like that in yours.

Under 4 minutes deserves the Dad of the Year award. :thumbsup2 It often takes me 4 minutes to find a bathroom in Disney, let alone do a diaper change!!

LMA. I think I'll not show my newly permitted daughter those pictures.
im pretty good with memory so from other trips, i knew where all the bathrooms where.

hopefully she takes those pictures as things NOT to do while driving

at least the driving through fire part, the driving on two wheels everyone should know how to do that.
:thumbsup2

Great update, Dan. I'm telling you that smile of Parker can warm a cold, dreary day. :goodvibes
thanks, sometimes it is very hard to yell at him with how cute he can be after he is a stinker.

Hey! Look who updated!
hey now,

its good food, your normal american style counter service.
i hate when they want us to move down or make room for others like that as well, we dont move either, like you said why should i suffer my seat when i got there early to get that seat. they can suck it up and take the bad seats.

I agree - they need to fix up the cage. All the sticks and ropes are probably getting rained on too much.
I always thought that water tower should be the icon, too. I didn't know they ever tried that. The big blue hat is just from one cartoon - I'm not much in to Wizards, so it's not my favorite.
im pretty sure when the park first opened it was something that was kinda pushed, i remember it on a lot of merchandise and things we have...but i think since it wasnt in the middle of the park, it never really took off,

I thought I saw you once and Candi once in a half second pan on Undercover Boss, but so fast it was hard to tell. You have 3 claims to fame that I know of now!
we thought we might have been a blury moment in the background at one time,(when we first got to the ballpark) but as far as if you saw us sitting in seats while he was serving that wasnt us, we were sitting across the stadium from them, and had a good view of them filming.

Ditto! Parker always steals the show in Dan's updates (at least for everyone outside of Glenn maybe) :rotfl2:
:rotfl:

hey welcome back, glad you caught up again.

its nice you still have leaves on the trees with color , ours has pretty much fallen and the color has turned ugly on the trees.

that sounds like a fun walk, take some pictures.
you can share them here if you want.
:thumbsup2

im guessing this is how it happens for you as well as parker:rolleyes1
I'm giving you four :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 for that one! I'm glad I wasn't at work when I read it, because I busted out laughing. As a matter of fact, I started laughing again just thinking about it! That was definitely one of your better ones.........

even if it WAS at my expense.... hey, wait a minute....

That would have been cool to see R2D2. I would have been like you -- looking for the person who's running the controls.
