Squirts, Shirts, and Flirts, The Legend Continues 2 weeks in FW(wrap up #2 new 11-17)

Caught up again just in time to see both trips end :guilty:

Absolutely amazing pictures!! The whole family takes great pictures....from both sides of the camera!

I have read all your trip reports and love them. Parker is so cute and so is the new baby. They grow so fast so I know she has changed alot since she was born, so please more pics of her and parker .Have you decided when she will make her first trip to WDW?

thanks tanya, i think i drug the report out long enough.

and thanks for the nice comments.

poor Parker! So glad it didn't bother him more after you made it home
we were glad to, even though he was a trooper it had to bug him.

:welcome: thanks for reading along with all of them.

i will see what i can do about a few more pics before i wrap this up.

as far as the first trip for her, nothing is scheduled right now. it depends on a few things.

Chapter 59. Wrap up session #1.

First i will wrap up the what if trip.

DSC05791.jpg

off the bat a lesson learned.

Lesson Learned: a vacation with family is fun, but a 2 plus week trip with family (extended family ie. in laws and such) is a little much.

We were all a little tired of each other by the end of the trip...but we wont dwell on it.

another good lesson learned.

Lesson learned: it doesnt have to be somewhere fancy or tropical just getting away and spending time with your family without any other distractions is key. it is one of the greatest things i can take away from the trip.

there were funny/scary events that we will never forget no matter how hard we try.
794.jpg

first time experiences that i am glad i tried.

paddle boarding
758.jpg

about the best i did on surfing,
709.jpg

even though i wasnt good at it, i still had a blast.

one of my highlights was the snorkling and the snuba adventure that we had.
13_13A.jpg

pictures of our little man just enjoying life and soaking it all in, will he remember it who knows, does he still talk about it, absolutely.

702.jpg

i believe that if he keeps looking at pictures and talking about it that he most certainly can remember key points of the trip as he grows up.

and of course we always have the pictures and video to share with him.

the pool time and just playing with him and not worrying about anything else was awesome.
228.jpg

images like this were ones that will always stay in my memory even without seeing them on a screen or in print.
1787b186.jpg

and who could forget the huge balcony and the view that we had each day.
8784ea7a.jpg

ccdd6938.jpg

715e99a9.jpg

even mickey made the long trek over the sea with us.
8.jpg

he had to scope out the what if for a future disney location.

sunsets where not a bad thing to look at each night either.
356.jpg

and of course i was able to meet a very nice DIS friend on the way to start our trip.
29.jpg

the little annoyances with the rest of the family and people getting on each others nerves about what to do that day and what to do the next day far outway the pluses on the trip.

food prices even at the grocery stores was very outragious, and somehow the local grown maui pineapple was 3 dollars more than the maui pineapple i buy in the story 2 minutes from my house...:confused3 how does that make sense, no import export of the pineapple just take it down to the store.

surprisingly, booze was the the only thing that wasnt really more expensive there than it is here, maybe $1 more a case which wasnt bad at all.

so solution eat less drink more save money.

we wont go into how much was saved by drinking more and eating less.
:rolleyes1

would i do the trip again absolutely will it be anytime soon, nope.

will we do it again with kids probably not, it was fun with parker but it would be fun to be just candi and I and be able to stay out later at night and do more adult things lay by the pool if you want for an hour and not worry about having to watch anyone.

my favorite memory from the trip
---family time

my favorite thing we toured
---the road to hana

my favorite meal we had
---bubba gumps, it was a very nice evening with candi on the water just being adults

my favorite activity
---snuba and snorkling

my favorite drink
---my morning bloody mary on the balcony watching the sunrise

favorite beach time activity
---building valcanoes for parker to climb up and fill in then dig out again.

scariest event
---candi getting stung

funniest event
---having to filler up (the cup) to take away her sting

i think that about wraps it up, if you have any questions feel free to ask, and i will do my best to answer them.

coming up next final wrap up #2 with our trip outtake on the disney trip.

See I was a little behind, slacker I am

Great sunset pics

Poor Parker and his eyes. Glad they were better when he got home

Thanks for sharing your What If Trip with us. Hawaii loooks amazing and would love to get there someday :goodvibes

Great wrap up Dan! I'm glad you could stay positive and make good memories, in spite of the family difficulties. It is hard sometimes. I'm planning to have "no opinion" of our plans when we do our big family Disney trip in 2013.

I love all your best of... more drinking, less eating! :rotfl2:

Great wrap up! I took a group trip to WDW last year so I understand about the family annoyances. I had a great time but am I in any rush to do it again anytime soon? No way!

What a great wrap up, Dan. I haven't been to Hawaii since our honeymoon 28 years ago and doubt we will ever get back, so I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting it with you and your lovely family.

Great wrap up Dan.

Outtakes from the the Disney Trip? :rolleyes1 Can't wait.

the big trips are fun but can be very stressful as well.

if you are the planner you are always wondering if people are having a good time and feel that you have to play the part of the tour guide for them instead of just relaxing and enjoying yourself.

hey it made sense it was the cheapest intack option.

haha i know exactly what you mean, i already told my father in law in a sit down that they are more than welcome to "visit" us on a future disney trip but they are not allowed to come the whole time, because of the reason that we dont get to enjoy ourself as much by trying to be a tour guide the whole time.

suprising he knew exactly what i meant and said that if they did come it would only be like a three day trip just to see the grandkids enjoy it.

he said he had hte same situation with trips and his parents and inlaws when they took family trips and knew where i was coming from.

Great wrap up Dan !!!
thanks rosie,

finished it much quicker than the disney trip

how could you have been married 28 years ago, you only look 29 maybe 34 if you are having a bad hair day.
;)

Great wrap up Dan.

Outtakes from the the Disney Trip? :rolleyes1 Can't wait.
thanks,

of course hope to have them up today before the weekend, but we will see how the day goes.

i was actually video on my camcorder when he landed, and we couldnt stop laughint when he hit he sort of jerked backward then rolled, this was after that trying to figure out how to get out of the tree.

So when can we expect to see that video on TV vying for the $100,000?

three bears waterfalls.
DSC01431-1.jpg

Hmm, not seeing those bears anywhere........ :confused3

at one of the stops we ran into this nice gentlman making these bowls...

i wont get into the details of what was discused but it was an awesome and very emotional religious experience for candi and just what she needed on this day.

we were very blessed to run into him and she still talks about the story of meeting him to this day...we will never forget it and privledged to meet him.

he allowed us to take a picture with him.

DSC01445.jpg

That's some really nice bowls Candi has there! :)

we jumped in a few times...and swam around...

there was a spot to the right that went under a rock wall that you could swim to and go into the cave.

my BIL wanted me to go with, so i went over there ( a little bit of the way into the cave) about the distance that i was still sort of in the cave but still on the daylight side.

Chicken! :rotfl2:

there were two locations that were blowing water out...some were small like this.
DSC01536.jpg

some were huge and got you soaked like this.
DSC01538.jpg

Cool pics! :cool2:

on the way back we stopped to see the rainbow forest.
DSC01553.jpg

More cool!!!

another shot of the bowls up close.
DSC01568.jpg

Hidden Mickey!!! :thumbsup2

candi got a little artsy in her photo skills.
DSC05791.jpg

First craftsy with the bowls, not artsy with the "sand sculpture!" A woman of many talents..... ;)

after a few hours and a few drinks on the beach, us guys decided it was time to go check out little beach.

Way to build up that courage! :rotfl:

first let me explain, as you sit there on the beach you see about every 5 minutes another couple or group of people head up that the hill to the little beach....everyone is curious and we were not the first ones of the day to do this...maybe more like number 150 of the day.

Well I guess it's okay then.... :upsidedow

thats all i will go to from there, i can neither confirm nor deny that any additional pictures were taken after this of little beach.

I'm guessing once again you were........chicken! :lmao:

the inside back dulley blew out...it was so powerful that it caused the truck bed to blow up the back section should be straight down not like it is.

DSC02159.jpg

under neath the truck after we stopped.
DSC02160.jpg

good thing about having duel tires in the back is that you can still drive with one good one.

Wow! Just Wow!!!

we stopped in northern GA for the first night, camped the pool maybe ten minutes before we got there ( at 8:00) and the guy wouldnt let us go swimming even though it was still bright out for the next almost 2 hours. not sure why the close so early maybe because it was also a senior seasonal camping place, so they were all sleeping already.

You were soooo close to where I live that night. Should have given me a call. :goodvibes

Way to end things with a bang!!! :lmao:

:sad2:

Its true Dan. He will remember some things.
Nova has memories from our trips from about age 3! She's 10 now.

Years from now you and Candi will be thinking back and talking. Then all of a sudden, Parker will chime in with his own memory. It will shock you what they remember.

Yes, you've hit the nail on the head! This is a huge goal for me, to have all of my family there, so I'm going to want them to see and do everything and for everything to be perfect! Well, we can't do it all in a week, and it will never be perfect. Ryan and Dana have been there, so they will know what they want to do, but I'm going to send them all a planning DVD and then find out what is "tops" on their list, then just let them decide what we're doing. We will be there to hug the grandkids and babysit! Everything else is gravy!:goodvibes From my trip with DSIS, I know that too much planning with little ones can ruin the fun.

:sad2:

really? how close are you to north ATL by marrietta, that is why my aunt lives and about 10 minutes from the campground we stayed at.

the bears fall was named for the dad, mom, and baby, small medium and large waterfall...:thumbsup2

well you know wether or not i have any additional pictures past the top of the hill.:rolleyes1

yep you have to just pick and choose and know that you cant spend the entire trip planned out...im sure you have a blast and really enjoy watching the grandkids while the parents go out and enjoy some adult time.

What a cutie' even with yucky eyes he has a big smile on his face!
thanks, he still makes you smile even with puffy eyes.
:)

Hey Dan, I had a TON of updates to get through. Loved the dual trip reporting. That's cool that you got to meet up with Leisa. Hawaii looks amazing!

About an hour and a half away. Under good driving conditions, I can be at the Georgia/Alabama border on the way to my sister's in 2 hours. Of course that means not hitting Atlanta traffic and common slow-ups on the bypass. :sad2:
