We just did a sedated MRI with Elke, and they did call beforehand and ask if she had a cough.... So hoping that Phoebe nips this cold in the bud.
Thankfully we didn't have to postpone. Her sniffle never turned into anything more. The last few years I tend to be the sickest of anyone in the family when we get something. I figure it's due to lack of sleep. (as I type at 12:34am....)
Glad you guys made it there and back safely! Hopefully Phoebe will still be able to get the testing in! I love weddings and hope you get a chance to post a few of the pictures!
I uploaded some of my faves into an album so the bride can have a sneak peek. I'll post the link here in a minute.
We are headed to Agua Linda Farms in Amado this weekend for their Garlic and Onion festival have you been there!
Geez that's a lot of pictures! Imagine if you'd used film! I think you would have had to charge almost two arms and a leg!
I've been to that farm but Tim won't go to any of their holiday type stuff. He doesn't like the people who run it. He generally doesn't like doing anything south of our house.
I am normally on the camping boards, but just happened to wander over here today. I am soooo glad I found your TR. I was too far behind to read every word, but I thoroughly enjoyed just the same! Don't even ask how many tissues it took to get through your report! I too have a special needs child so this was especially touching to me. Thanks for taking the time and energy out of your busy life to share your experience with us. Best Wishes to you and your beautiful family! KFK
Thanks so much for skimming through. I love your siggie, where it says Different is the new Normal!
I love wedding pictures. Were either of the girls in the wedding?
No, this cousin isn't particularly close. I think she was mostly looking for a bargain photographer. I probably wouldn't have made the trip if I weren't doing the photos. I love her and it was fun, but it's hard to drive four days for someone you only see every 5 years or so.
Glad you made it back safley. I'd love to see pictures of your recent trip. I'm homesick for Utah so Utah pics are always welcome.
I hope you enjoyed! I didn't get much scenery once we were past southern Utah, but it's all very pretty there.
Glad you guys made it home safe and sound! I hope Phoebe's appointments go well!
Patiently waiting for your next installment! I love your TR!!
Thanks! That's sweet.
After DS8 had those weekend hookups to the 'machines'...the only thing they could tell me...is yes, he has brain damage (which we already knew) and he is having seizure 'like' episode that appear to be 'situational seizures'...which there is nothing they can do about...
For us it was a waste of time, but we were able to rule out things. Glad the further tests were able to come to a sort of conclusion....hoping thefre is good news coming!
(we use the melatonin at night for DS...could not live without it!)
Nini
The last neuro we saw in Texas called these things "spells". I asked him what a spell was if it wasn't a seizure and he said they don't know. Um, okay, that's useful information! NOT!
I'm glad to hear the melatonin works on him. I ordered some drops and hoping they arrive soon. We've just been putting her to bed with us the last couple weeks to save the hassle of walking to her bedroom several times a night. We want our bed back!
Thanks for the update....I've been thinking of you and praying for you guys. Love the pictures and what's more fun then a new puppy and a pool!
Thanks for thinking of us! Watching Tessa enjoying life makes me miss my childhood.
Gorgeous pictures!
Looks like you all had a great time!
We did! Thanks!
Beautiful pictures! Glad you were able to enjoy a visit with your extended family
I am one who just adores my family. I lived for Christmas and summer break when I was a kid. One of my many cousins became my roommate when we went to the same college and she ended up marrying my brother-in-law. I'm so happy to have someone from MY family, be part of Tim's family.
Welcome back, Melissa!
I love the pics so far!
Glad to hear that Phoebe doesn't have to go through those extra tests! They sound so painful, I can't even imagine a little girl having to go through that!
Can't wait to hear about the wedding (and of course, the rest of your WDW trip!)
I'll hopefully be getting back into the swing of things soon. It's been a crazy month.
Melissa,
your girls are so darn cute it's ridiculous. Hope that the dx is correct, and that you can work with it in some way to make Phoebe's life a little easier.
Zion National Park is gorgeous. Went there on a family trip when I was younger.
Thanks. I wish I could take the credit for them.

I don't know if this dx will change anything at all, but it's interesting having one finally.
I bet Zion is exactly the same as when you were there. It is really neat though.
wow! that area is beautiful. What a wonderful trip.
It was a fun trip. I'm glad my parents went to help with the girls.
Wonderful pics!!
You are such a great photographer!
I love the one of Pheobe and your mom with the horses - so sweet.
Looks like it was a great trip.
I really was tempted to make Phoebe's wish something to do with horses, but since she can ride at my aunt's, she can ride at my SIL's, and she rides half of the school year, I just felt like it was wasting an opportunity. She sure does love those big babies though!
O my Melissa! Tessa is getting so dark! I love how she explores her world! I love your pictures!
I hope what the doctors found can hopefully put you all on the right path to truly figure out what's going on with Phoebe. And I agree I think she totally deserved the Wish Trip!
I can't stop Tessa from tanning. I put SPF50 on her every day and she still comes home with tan lines. Her skin is melanin rich!!!
Beautiful pics! Both of your girls have the prettiest smiles. I just love seeing them

Looks like you all had a wonderful trip.
I am glad what you are seeing is not siezures. I am not sure what PVL is but I hope it is something that the dr's can come up with a plan to help Pheobe. I'm sorry the MRI showed something but I am happy that you were able to get some answers.
It's nice to have a name to tell people, although it is a pretty bizarre one and no one will know what it is.

Maybe as time goes by there will be more research done on it and we will have some more options.
Incredible pics Melissa. We have the Golden access pass as well (for DH) and it has given us a wonderful oppertunity to explore some of natures wonders. It saved us a fortune when we spent 10 days camping at Yellowstone when the kids were younger. I hope the fact that they found something with Phoebe's tests this time helps you some. I know how frustrating it is not to have answers about why your kids are sick, and I hope they can help her get a peaceful nights sleep now. Love the pics at lagoon. I pratically spent my childhood there and we have taken the kids a few times while on visits to the family. I'm pretty sure that ride has been there forever.
It looked the same as how I remembered it, and that has to be 20 years ago!
Love the pics! I

pics of nature like that- beautiful!!! Sigh... makes me wanna go on vacation at a park- and not a theme park!

Anyway- glad you guys had a great time!
A little vacation variety never hurt anyone (I don't think).
Great pix!!!!!!!!!
So the news about Phoebe is not good? What does that mean for you...for her....
Thanks Jordan. It's basically more of the same. A dx without any cures. We used to think she had a chromosomal abnormality, which she still might, which would mean there is no cure and that's just how she is. This new dx means there is no cure and it's just how she is. Confused? yeah.
Beautiful pictures!! You are a great photographer!!
Loved the pics of Phoebe with the horses!!
Thanks. She loves them sooooo much!
Hi Melissa!!! Since I got back from our trip, it's taken me a while to get back into full swing again! But I'm ready to read all I've missed!!
Howdy!
ETA: We have plans to take a very similar trip in the fall! Nice pictures!
I saw your post on Jordan's and I was wondering what went wrong. I expect full disclosure on your PTR....
